Default ESP Legal Crossmember

Is the UMI road race K-Member legal for SCCA Street Prepared. my stock one is cracked at the front lower control arm pivot and need a replacement quickly

No. 100% stock only. Just weld it if you need it working right now.

Just move up a class or two,, how hard could it be?? LOL

Is the cop car part legal? I thought they had a heavier one.. But those brain cells didn't survive the weekend..

I think the convertible one fits and is legal but it doesn't reinforce the part that broke. the cracks appear on both sides and appear to have happened over time. Little troublesome to source one here locally.

apparently under braking the control arm would move back reducing caster and pull the sway bar back which eventually tore that mount out of the frame. never thought of a crossmember as a wear item but I guess after 20 years of R comps this will fail.

thought about changing classes but CAM, EM and CP are cost prohibitive and a stick axle car really isnt competitive in SM or STU against the boost buggies. thinking about demodding the car and going back to F-Stock

Mine's been a race car since 2004 and has run into all manner of things, although it's very possible that the member was replaced before I got it. I think the rust is what got you here.

the rust is very minor surface stuff but I suspect having 20 years of autocrossing have taken its toll. locating a replacement crossmember and decide what class I want to continue to race in
