Default Recommendations for tire pressure?

I'm running 17x11's with Nitto 555R drag radials all around. What tire pressure would you all recommend for AXing?

For drag racing I ran 18lbs with great success..... AutoX will need more obviously. Have you emailed Nitto and asked their recommendation? I'd imagine 26lbs or so.

That is not the best AutoX tire if you are serious about it.

Much higher in front. Start with something like 30 rear and 37-38 front. Use shoe polish or chalk on the edge of the tread to make sure you aren't rolling over too far on them, if so, add a little pressure.

Drag radials can actually do fairly well.

NITTO Drag Radials do rather well ... other brands aren't so hot. The sidewall is way to soft on BFGs, MT, etc.

I had the best luck running in the mid 30s with about 3-4psi difference front to rear.

It's gonna depend a lot on your specific set up. But you should have a good starting point now ...

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try running 30 in the rear and maybe 35-36 in the fronts and see how that does and work from there based on the chalk lines.

The normal drag radials the 555r's aren't meant for autocrossing, so they have a tendency to roll over during turns. Same with the 555 street tires that I have now, they are similar tires. I try to keep my fronts around 38psi, and rears around 33psi. Though it depends on what type of track it is and temperature of the day. Keep a pressure guage handy with you. You will need to bleed the tire pressure after every other run most likely. This is the settings im comfortable with. There's no right or wrong setting. It's what makes you feel like you can control the car best and feel the most stable. I think you will find your preferred settings will be something close to my settings.
