NASAProRacing.com

$179/day $299/weekend
(4) 20 minute road race sessions per day at Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and Infineon (Sears Point).

AutoX is nice to get your feet wet for 1 minutes worth of racing... but 20 minutes worth is just that much better.

Check out the HPDE days. You will never AutoX ever again.

There are two great venues for racing pony cars. One is SCCA. Either the t2 class or american sedan class. In NASA there are 3 classes you can race a 98 trans am in varioius trim. Miatas are a great car to race as they are very affordable, but there is something about v8 grunt on a road course that a miata can't match. Its all about choices and having fun. I race in SCCA's american sedan class.

My other suggestion is go to your local race tracks website and check the years schedule on what clubs will be at the track at on certain dates. Most car clubs such as Porsche, Viper, Mustang, Audi, and BMW clubs welcome other makes of cars to their open track days to offset the cost of renting the track. Some clubs do this some do not. Anyway you don't have to limit your self to f body only events or SCCA and NASA events. I help with many clubs at my local track Mid America Motorplex. www.midamerciamotorplex.com and there is a calender on the website for car club weekends. Find the contact of the car club in advance to see if they allow non members to join them and have fun. If you want to go beat up on mustangs you have to go to their pond.
