Default Driving school

What's the recommendation on driving schools? Are there worth while schools offering an excellent LS1 experience? And are there any local to Michigan where I live?

Thanks, Brian

Might I suggest looking at a local track's website and seeing if they offer any kind of HPDE (High Performance Driver Education).

This type venue allows you track access, with an instructor, in YOUR car. There is limited and very controlled passing.

All the other drivers out there are just like you and me ... we want to have fun in our cars, but don't want to bend it. Consequently, these are very safe venues.

Thanks for the tips. I'd like to try out a driving school when I can save up enough.

Check out the folks at N.A.S.A., go to regions and see what's available. Look into the H.P.D.E.'s that they offer.

The Porsche Club Association (PCA) typicaly has alot of regional events which are very well run and great starting points. Cost run about $200 for a weekend depending on the track.

Also try www.drivingevents.com for regional venues or your local track's website.

Might I recommend the Brian Carson Stunt Driving school, it's in Las Vegas. Some places even offer executive protection courses. It'd be cool to learn how to handle a limo at 120mph, or car to car gunfighting. lmfao

its not ls1 basis but if you truly want a SOTP scare you to death ride try Dave Blaneys Driving experience. How about a 1400 pound car with 800 hp direct drive that went 5 seconds faster around Bristol than a winston cup car

Look up DE Events on your local Porsche & BMW webb sites! This is the entry level to on course drivers education.

After you have done a number of events at this level, you should know the "basics" ie. corner entry/Apex/track out and how to "heel & toe" down shift. Then you may want to "invest" $$$ with a driving school. I took the 3 day school with Justin Bell, using SS Carmano's, C-5 and Z06 vettes. Other schools may be equal... but I wanteed a Corvette school.

Good Luck... and... HAVE FUN!
