17 by 11's in the rear

17 by 11's in the rear My search feature isn't working, I know it's been asked before, but what do I have to do, to get 17 by 11s to fit in the rear of my Trans AM? I was told by the company, they would fit on Trans AMs, I didnt mention mine was lowered 1 inch. Thanks.
Re: 17 by 11's in the rear Mine is lowered about that much and they still fit. The three main issues are 1) beating in the area in front of the bump stop, 2) removing or shaving the bump stop, 3) rolling the fenders slightly.
All this can be done in maybe an hour or so, and I have heard that some have not even had to do any of this stuff to get the wheels/tires to fit (but I've always done them).

Re: 17 by 11's in the rear Yes any 11" wide wheel will fit any '93-'02 car with very little work. 50mm (GrandSport) offset is probably the best however some have used 36mm (ZR1) with just a little sticking out of the sides. 315s can be used with just a slight trimming of the bumpstop, slight hammer work to the inside fender, and an adjustible panhard rod to make sure things are even.
335s can be made to fit with rolling of the fender, more beating and complete removal of the bumpstop and bumpstop mount.
18" wheels make it even easier since they have even more room on the inside.

1. ss or ws-6 bump stops, dont just remove them because you might cut your tire on the fender.
2. grind bump stop mount.
3. roll fenders
also make sure the rear is centered perfectly

Re: 17 by 11's in the rear I have 17x11 ZR1 wheels (+50mm offset) on all corners.
Issues to make sure everything fitted:
FRONT:
1. used a 7/32" spacer
2. changed my studs by ARP studs same size as stock but threaded all the way.
REAR:
1. Have an adj.PHR to make sure the rear is centered
2. Massaged the inner fenders to avoid rubbing under hard cornering at the track
3. Cut the outer-half of my bumpstops so I can lift the car by the side and not have them interfere with the tire/wheel.
