surprised at 4.6 stang
A buddy of mine just picked up at 99 GT today, 5 spd, intake/tb/maf, x pipe, highflows, catback, chip, and 3.73's. We havn't lined up yet but I was surprised at how that thing went, just ripped through 1 2 and 3 like nothing. For a 260hp car stock it will definately give me a run if not pull on me I think. But it's all good fun and I think that and for a car thats as common as a mustang gt it can haul pretty good.

I think you'd still walk him if you drive at the same kind of level. Ripping through 3 gears faster isn't important. He has 3.73's, you don't. And his transmission gearing is also much deeper too. He has to shift more often, and while that makes his car quicker it still is about 100 hp from an SN95 to an LS1 engine.

Though I agree the newer mustangs (especially 05 and up) are fun to drive.
But I still like my LS1 MUCH better.
