Auto X Newb Questions!!!
Here are the things that I would recomend:
- Know what class your car falls in (if using SCCA rules you will probably be in CP because your engine mods.)
- Check all fluids levels
- Put extra quart of oil in the engine
- Check your Braking system is working properly (enough pad material rotors are in good conditions)
- Make sure that the wheels have no wheel bearing play
- Performance Alignment Max negative camber, 4.5 castor, and 0 toe or 1/32 toe (either will work)
- Helmet DOT or Snell 2000+ (Bike helmet usally works)
- Painter's tape (to make your numbers and class)
- Cooler with water & gatorade. (in case no store is available near the site)
- Extra fluids (Oil, Brake, Coolant, power steering)
- If you are swaping tires any necesary equipment (electric impact, torque wrench, jack, etc.)
- Tire pressure gauge (it is good to check the preassure before and after each run, tire preasure will increase after each run as the tires heat up, this is more so with racing tires like DOT R or slicks so don't worry to much about it on your first event)
- Air Tank in case you need to increase tire pressure (note: you only need this if you are going to play with your tire pressures during the event. I recomend for you not doing so until you get some seat time)
- Folding Chair
