Are you guys using street tires for novice races? I read there are different type of class for people who have more or less track experience.

Calm down, I'm sure Mitch was just having some fun. Lots of people tape up their cars at first and I'll admit I did too. Once you're hooked you'll stop taping up the car and wonder why the hell you ever bothered. What you'll mainly get on the car is rubber marks where sticky tires have picked up a piece of rubber and tossed it on your car. They wipe off easily with most any type of solvent.

We were laughing at the guy behind me who basically had the front of his Maseratti covered with a "track condom". Put the bra on it's a much better look.

Curious ... just how did I "talk down" to you? Not sure what the problem is.

I pointed out how chips can be an ADVANTAGE in a car show.

I won a car show having never washed the car after a weekend. It had dirt, brake dust and tire buggers all over it. I had in-car video running of it on the track and pics of it cleaned up.

But ... keystrokes are expensive. So use them wisely. <now that was sarcasm >

If you are still bent, might I suggest clicking on the "User CP" and in the list on the left is a link called "Buddy / Ignore Lists". I use it and it saves me similar angst.

I'll be heading up to Birmingham to www.barbermotorsports.com for the www.chinmotorsports.com open track event.

I'll get some then and upload them to my http://jhelms.smugmug.com page...

unless youre competing, it doesnt pay to have special tires for a time trial. im going to use my street tires, which are sumis, and just hope for the best. i already shelled out almost a grand for autox tires, im going to get another set of dedicated track tires, for which i might use once or twice a year.

Someone needs to get some good road racing pics and submit them as the COTM in the multimedia section...

I am going to try and make it out a few times this year for HST, and maybe in June for the MidAM Shelby meet. What are the NASA dates?

It has been years since I was last at Hallet, I forgot how fun of a track it was. Lots of improvements since I was last there.

Hope to have my turbo car there for May.

Here is another pic I enjoyed.

Here are some from the 2007 Nasa Championship Friday and Sunday. You'll recognize a few cars and people from this board.

Thanks!

Haha! No, he was 4-5 seconds quicker a lap, so I just waved him on by. He passed me during another session as well, and I truly enjoyed hearing that thing go by! Guy owns two of them! Getting ready to buy a third!
