So hp gains like this are very possible out of a stock 6.0 crank??? I thought everyone was goin to eagle, cola, callies, etc for not only a stroker but strength? I had no idea my 6.0 crank would take that much abuse... Make me kinda reconsider my stroker build and just good rods, pistons, and much more boost.

You guys are killin me!!!! The stock crank is a liability at the power levels these guys run, but they hold in alot of cases!! Harlan, you are still on the top ten list!!

You've gotta grit your teeth on every pass with a stock crank at those power levels. LOL

Kurt, I knew you would chime in on this one. hahaha. I remember you saying something along the lines of "I don't want to run over my crank at 170mph...these guys are crazy..." Good stuff.

Its not my teeth that tighten when I drive one Brady!!!
I am old, so I have more fear of driving over my crank. I just don't heal like I used to!

Hey Kurt,
We should be at the dyno in about three weeks. It's been awhile but that
sister shortblock to your Silverado SS will finally see some boost.

Sorry to hijack, but I am Tim and I too have a stock crank. lol.

No kidding...what a stick in the mud. Us poor guys out there just trying to have fun.
He also said we shouldn't have ran the same lifters and springs for 2 years. Or the same rods for 4 years.

The stock crank I used was the one that came in the CE. I ran it all the way till the middle of last season. I still have it in the garage and is perfect. I'll put it back in something some day.

5.7 crank is drilled through the mains, for better crankcase breathing I would guess, 6.0 cranks are not and are solid. I would assume that makes the 6.0 cranks slightly stronger, and heavier.

My 5.7 crank started life in a heads/cam M6 car (distortion_69 on the board here) and thats whats been in my 347 for two years of pretty serious beating. I just took the engine apart and the crank looks like brand new still and wouldnt hesitate to put it in another engine. Granted I dont make the big power like some but it has sure made a lot of passes..

Thats a fair amount of power kp, esp. with a blower. Thats a lot more stress on the crank then a turbo guy running the smae mph/weight as you.
