does anyone run a check valve on the pcv system to keep boost from pumping oil into throttle body? If so,what kind? <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />

 

I run a check valve on the PCV line that comes from the side of the intake. It keeps boost from going into the crankcase. I'll have to find an exact part# for it. Maybe just__me will see this thread and give the part#. I have the one he recommended. Thanks Chris for letting me know to run a check valve. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

This is something all ATI people should do as one is not supplied with the kit.(at least it wasn't when I got my kit)

I am using the #7775k52 valve. I installed a brass- male 1/4" NPT to 3/8" barb fitting in each end of the valve, which you can find at any hardware or autoparts store.
This is a nice valve for 10 bones.

Mcmaster rules!I orderd my check valve last night at about 8.30pm and it was here when i got home from work today. <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" /> <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" />

 

Yeah McMaster really does a good job. We use them alot for boiler, HVAC and engineers supplys, and they usualy get things to us the next day, sometimes even the same day if we really need it. Grainger is also good. They also have a really cool 1/4 turn ball valve that has a 1/2' compression on the supply side, and a 3/8" threaded end on the other that works great for the sut off on sinks and toilets. Never leaks or ceases.
On the original note, I was thinking about running a check valve as well. but I would like to see some pics of what you guys are running

 

For you guys that have installed the brass check valve--which way does the 'flow' go--towards the intake or towards the PCV valve? You do leave the PCV installed, right?

You want the flow to go towards the intake. When the intake sees boost you want the valve to close so the crankcase doesn't get pressurised. <img src="gr_eek2.gif" border="0">

My PCV valve is still hooked up. I'm not sure what good it does to be hooked up but its not going to hurt anything to leave it hooked up. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
