Default Prelim. 408 dyno results

Just sharing some info from a 408 we had on the dyno today. 515 rwhp and a converter flash over 600rwtq.

Specs:
TH-400 trans( car set up for N2o )
6.0 block, 4.030
4.0 stroke
stage 3 6.0 heads (330 cfm)
solid roller cam set up for N20
ls6 intake
ported stock TB

These are just the prelim #'s, hopfully in the high 520's when done
Hopefully we will see a 6.0 block go in the 8's

No secrets here 12.5 comp and mid 600 lift. The engine peaked at 6500 rpm. Sometimes you just hate to dyno Auto's with no lock up and post numbers as they don't seem very impressive but we are happy as we had a similar NA setup that made a bit more power and ran 9.60's NA

Time passing and R&D sure pays off, smaller portvolumes, attention to detail and programming sure make the diff.

Thanks Nick, sounds great I'm building a 408 ironblock just for the track{1/8mile mostly,we don't have a1/4 close by]want to use a big solid roller cam probably around 260 @.050 with .670 lift ,110LDA??tThinking of using ported 5.3,s Jesel shaft rockers 1.8 rr, maybe aluminum con. rods, electric w.pump ,fabricated aluminum intake, not sure on pistons yet maybe Diamond or C .P. What do you suggest? BY THE WAY I LOVE ALL THE WORK I'VE SEEN OR READ ABOUT FROM YOUR SHOP!! Thanks Mark.

I think the specs on cam and heads are good. Is it NA or power adder? I would stay away from the custome intake and just go with the LSX, I havn't seen any results yet that would make me want to spend the money. Oh, just go with a set of 1.7's unless you have the right cam and spring setup

Thanks Nick, you must think I might have trouble with the 1.8 Jesel, I will be running some big springs ,I'll lose about.037 lift but I guess that'll be OK,should be about.636 with 1.7's.You think I should run more duration, they have 268, 264, 260, all with the same lift? This is going in a gutted car 2500lbs 4-link rear,. 4.88 gears 4500-5000 stall with a powerglide ,plan to run 2 stage no2 after I get the motor sorted out.probably will see 7500-8000RPM.

Hi Guys, I don't mind being asked questions about the engine but it seems like there are others that do and was asked (nicely I might add) to refrain from other information as I may be advertising

You can PM me if there is other information required
