I am dealing with the same issue here. I am getting the C0550 code only though. So i am assuming changing the ecbm is my only option at this point ? If so does anyone have a 2000 ecbm for sale ? I do have two diff tire sizes but I would not think that would cause the malfunction code but I am new to this so I could easily be wrong. 16's on front and 17's on the rear.

I had exactly the same issue on my 2001 Z28. I replaced the EBCM last week and it is ok since then. No lights are coming on the dashboard.

When I scanned it, it threw the code C0550 something EBCM malfunction so I replaced the EBCM only (I got the whole ABS module used from this forum for USD 30).

Did the ecbm you get come from the same year as yours ? I have read that some have to be programmed by the dealership and I prefer to avoid the stealerships. I have found some 02 TA ecbm and I want to make sure it will work on my 2000 without having to be programmed before purchasing.

No it wasn't and I didn't re-program it.

I think all LS1 F-body years (1998-2002) are compatible and regardless camaro or firebird.

I put in a 2000 T/A's EBCM on my 2001 Z28 and is working fine. Just make sure whether yours is a 3 or 4 channel as well as the one you are getting.

Cleaning the sensors didn't help, I'm getting the same issues. Is there any place that sells new or re-manufactured EBCM Electronic Brake Control Modules for a reasonable price?

Manufacturer: AC Delco
UPC: 707773298091
P/N 12457657 - Electronic Brake Control Module Kit
$620.75

Once I clean my sensors, if it doesn't work, in all seriousness, I'm deleting the ABS.

That's just me though.

Top three aluminum wires were broken (2nd & 3rd photo), lights would come on after engine bay got hot. I used silver epoxy, and added silicone sealant on those three wires. No problems since, You need a steady hand and a microscope to do this.

Default tampering

does anyone know if tampering with the OBD2 will cause the TCS OFF, BRAKE LIGHT, and ABS INOP LIGHTS to come on. I know the car is tampered because the catalytic converters were removed and the service engine light is not on.

I'm the original owner and I'm at 137,000 miles. I have had the above codes come on and off for a couple of months, and have since replaced the front wheel hub assembly's that included wheel sensors, replaced alternator, and "just" cleaned the rear sensors for the first time, one had a strand of wire stuck to it (wire not in photo below).

Cleared codes, I'll have to drive it for about a week and see if codes come back, hopefully it was just the dirty rear sensors.

I finally invested in a OBDII/ABS Scanner. I've been having the same issues. Randomly having the BRAKE/ABS INOP/ACR OFF lights come on at the same time. I'm unable to pin point when it happens or how to make it happen other then waiting for it to just randomly come on. I pulled these codes:

C0550, C0896, P0500

The picture you submitted is that the wheel speed sensors? Any Idea what might be my issue?

I had the same issue. Check out CheapABS.com. Going on 2 years w/o any problems. Repaired for less than 125.00 including s&h.

You can still drive while the abs module is being repaired.

Best find ever! I was looking at 1,300 for repair and fixed under 125.00!

They show you how to take apart the module to send in for repair. 4 screws in 10 minutes and its off..

CheapABS.com

Also had my wives GTP fixed too.

You can also find reman. AC Delco ABS modules on Amazon. I got one for my truck (which are notorious for ABS issues) for a lot cheaper than even Rock Auto had it listed, and was about the same price as a rebuild. Not a single problem in the ~4 years since I replaced it.
