Feeding the Beast
Ok, so I'm looking for ideas on a fuel system for the new beast. Currently I have a single Walbro 255lph in tank from my old setup. I am looking to do what's necessary without going overboard for no reason. I'm looking to supply a well built 396 ltx that should put down 600+ fwhp at over 7k rpm before the 200 shot. The engine isn't completed yet, still with the machinist, so hp figures are based on airflow calculator, the heads flow 311cfm @ .700 lift @ 28 inh2o. Its sporting a LE designed SR setup with .688/.688 lift 263/271 duration and a 24x conversion. LE also worked wonders on my "too small" AFR 195s, opening the intake runner to 214cc. I'm hoping to get to near 700hp on the bottle and its "street driven"
Am I looking at one 340lph? Two 255s? Also, what about fuel lines, are the stockers big enough?

My 396 LTx build will be gettin twin 255s... The 2nd pump will be wired to come on when I arm the nitrous
I thought I was pushin the "Street Drivin" limits with a Cam Motions SR thats 25x/26x @.05 .686/.662 112 & hand ported 200cc Dart Pro 1s that finished right at 208cc & 311cfm LoL Mines settin in pcs out in the Shop waitin on Me to get More Money LoL
Hope your gettin an S60 rear diff & a built 4L80E too!!! Youll need em!!! My Horsepower est came out to 640.6 on motor & then whatever I spray LoL In GM High Tech they built a 396 SBC a few yrs back with the same heads as mine with a 242 @.05 SR grind that made 603hp at the flywheel if that helps ya any... I still gotta buy my custom JE flat top nitrous pistons & shaft mount roller rockers before I can tell ya what My junk cranks out!!!

walbro 255 in tank will be fine to feed the motor
Dedicated fuel system to feed the nitrous....eliminates injector pressure loss on activation, and allows for higher octane fuel to be run through the nitrous system
396, ported AFR 227s, 258/268 solid roller and 2-400 shot in mine.

I prefer a cell for nitrous with a low pressure pump. Keep the pumps in the tank for the motor. Twin 255's isn't very difficult. Some like to only run one at a time until needing two but I still like both to run all the time. Seems like they are more reliable that way. might just be me though lol. With both running the fuel pressure can be bumped up a bunch if needed. Also properly sized lines are best. Good Y connections are hard to beat when needing a bunch of fuel flow. Just keep plenty of fuel in the tank.
LoL Moe that's My wild *** guess... When My *** gets the junk pile finished I'm havin You tune it
I still need a speed shop full oh parts lol It takes a chunk of change to build one that's pretty quick & do it all at once... It should hurt a few Furds feelings when Im done

I've heard that so many times I can't even count. I'm pretty investigative and money wise so I thought I would be one of the 'fortunate' to stay on budget. What kills that is the thought once into a good build of "I've gone this far..." It is the right thing to do in the end. Shooting for 700hp to the tires isn't cheap.
