NASA - NJMP Thunderbolt FULL RACE 6/18/2016
Full NASA race video from this past weekend @ Thunderbolt.
Finished P2 in my class.
Had some fun playing with a Mustang in American Iron.
I was up against an M3 with a swapped LS3 that was detuned to run in the class. He had 3 seconds on me...
Race was red flagged and cut short due to a big wreck on the front straight that took out the fastest car of the day.

Cool, thanks for sharing! A shame that your only competitor had you that out-gunned, but at least you had someone else to race (even if they weren't in your class).
How high do you wind it out on the pit straight? Maybe it's just that your (gutted) car is so much louder, but it sounds like you're past the stock redline.
Nervous about what? I didn't see anything of note.
The only thing that made me nervous was towards the end, when the white 3-series just about ran over the slow-as-dirt 944 at the end of the pit straight. Seemed like he cut that needlessly close.

Front straight I usually wind out 4th gear. Limiter is over 6k. I want to say low 140's.
I was late to qualifying so I didn't do myself any favors. From the video I had sight of the P1 car at the beginning but after it thinned out I lost sight of him.

Went to a V Day meet with it and started doing track days. From there it just spiraled out of control. Basically became a track toy.
I tried to track down some of the previously built race V's for purchase. When that didn't pan out I just converted mine. It was a solid platform that I had experience with already.
Easier path would have been to just buy an outright C5/C6 race car in hindsight. But I figured everyone has gone that route and I like the attention and surprises the Caddy brings.

Horsepower to weight ratio of 8.0:1 whereas my class ST3 is 10.0:1
Lap times are probably 5+ seconds faster. You figure the C5/C6 has similar hp but weighs much lighter.

Are there any events coming up that might have HPDE spots open? I finally just got my car back from the shop a couple days ago. I'll be in Jersey for most of July for training too, and I think I get weekends off.
