I have the same head unit! About to get the same install kit too... looks clean.

 

...and works well since all I really listen to is my iPod in the Camaro.

Did anyone wire their Ipods straight to the amplifier and run the speakers off the amp?

It 'd make up a pretty rad mini version of a dd with all the apps available for the Itouch/smartphones.

 

Just curious, but why would you do that instead of just wiring it straight to the headunit?

 

A few people want to free up the space for gauges in the car or "weight savings".

I 'd use an Ipad or similar tablet as a cheaper alternative to double din ,and still have most if not all the features.
Its also useful outside the car too.

 

I'd guess you could run the RCA's off the ipad/ipod but not sure about the remote wire, I guess I would just connect it to any ACC fuse.

Anyway, just got my new HUmount for my Kenwood KDC-BT952HD radio. Didn't go for any fancy lighting, just wanted a cleaner look than the typical mounting brackets.

Just finished mine.

The red color option matches the factory gauges pretty good.

 

 

That looks sweet! How hard was it to install?

 

I thought it was quite easy. I just made a couple L bracket out of aluminum stock. The hardest part was modifying the bezel.
