Few quick updates on my dormant build
Gonna order my T cover soon so I can button up the short block and then I'm a valley cover and head gaskets/bolts from the long block being complete
The Trans is apart and unfortunately needs about a grand of parts which seems surprising since it only ground a little going into second but heck; it is what it is 😟
Money issues will stall this deal longer than anticipated as my wife's employer will be closing by years end 😡
I'm guesstimating I'll need in the vacinity of 3 to 3.5 grand total to finish it up with a new clutch/master; injectors and tune
Kinda sucks but life hits you like that sometimes. The car is paid for and not going anywhere so eventually I'll get to the finish line on this one !!

Decided to double check the machine shop that put the heads together and said "they're fine, springs are good"
Found the intake installed heights at 1.86 and the exhausts at 1.835. Found me some Manley fifty down locks to get the intakes at the Lunati spec of 1.81 and I'll just run the exhausts at 1.785. I'm guessing my open pressures will be similar with .604" intake and .574" exhaust lift
It perhaps would have been fine with the light valves but glad I decided to check it and just make it right

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of just bolting parts on. I have to set it up myself or at least check so I can make a record of it. Depending on the rate of the springs, you probably just increase seat and open pressure by 20-25lbs. I'd say that's a smart move.

Nice normal money build, interested to find out how it runs. If you aren't stuck on one brand of clutch, I've had great luck with the McLeod RST/RSX twins in everything from 400rwhp dd's to 1000+rwhp cars(past 1k there are better choices). I daily an 05 GTO with a little over 400rwhp and an RST. The car is set up for a wide powerband and good midrange. I have about 25k hard miles on my RST and couldn't be happier with it. Light pedal, good grip and progressive engagement, basically a nice street clutch. I got mine through work on our wholesale account for $650ish. I have a slight resonance at 1800-1900rpm but otherwise it is silent and has never been any problem. It has taken 2+hr long trips at 90+mph, bumper to bumper traffic, been over 160 numerous times, takes hard launches and powershifts like a champ. I wanted the Monster LT1s or a Centerforce Dual Dyad but couldn't pass up the deal I got. In the spring I'll see how it likes a bit more power and a 150 or 200 shot.

Minor update just ordered my new GM timing cover kit from Summit with all the bolts/sensor/harness plug/gasket.....sweet deal for 90 bucks but then I got hooked by the "order 10 more dollars worth of items for free shipping" promp....LOL
Sooooo; that led to the purchase of the knock/cam sensor harness adapter that I will need for the LS1 to LS2 conversion......really neat little set up for another 55 bucks....not bad at all IMO
I just need to remember to re tap the block holes for the larger LS1 knock sensors to relocate
A buddy who owes me some coin from an engine project may be giving me a new LS7 clutch assembly....right in my price range...LOL
I doubt I'll be making much more power than a stock ZO6 any ways so I'm confident it will hold for the few blasts I'll make with it.
I also have another LS buddy with a custom machine job who I'll ask if he could tackle lightening the heavy *** LS7 flywheel before I get it balanced.
If this works out I'll take before and after pics to show what he does. My hope is to shed about 5-7 lbs but that might we wishful thinking.
Lastly I have some header pics of my used XS POWER long tubes......yes China ****....blah blah blah they were marketed as 1 3/4" but are more like 1.75 I.D. since the O.D. measures 1.90"....IIRC RonSSNova also ended up with a set of these bigger tube ones for his 10.99 AFR headed C5
