Well I have a few updates. Car runs mint, it is very fast. Not a lot of traction though lol. I've been working on updating the suspension. I don't really want to go the all out drag route. I just want a fast car that handles good. So plans so far are 17 in street lites , ride tech hq coilovers, and ride tech tru turn w/ wilwood front brake kit .I bought the rear rims/ tires so far, went with 17x9.5 5in bs. With nitto 555r 275/40/17 . Coil overs should be here next week.

Finally had time to paint the hood. It came out really nice, considering I painted it in my garage.

Super nice Cutlass. That's an incredible amount of work you've put into it. Very nicely done. I'm assuming that your putting the same wheels up front. Might even consider some 245's up front instead of 275's. Looking forward to following the rest of this project.

Thanks, yes same wheels up front . I'm installing ride tech coil overs / strong arms , rebuilding the whole front end etc... I'm currently saving for the wilwood brakes ( the only thing I'm missing) then I'm going to put it all together and check back spacing before getting the wheels . I didn't want to get them and have them be wrong lol. Car will also sit lower with the ride tech suspension

Hey Jimmy, what transmission controller are you using with your 4L80? Does what you're using work well? I'm asking because I'm going to put a 4L80 into my 79' Chevy truck behind a SB Chevy and will need a controller.

Hi Todd, I'm using a U.S. shift quick 4. Really nice controller. You can udjust it with the **** on the unit, or plug a laptop into it and make it shift any way you want, store 4 different tunes etc... You can go on there site and download the tuning software for free and check it out. They also have the quick 1 that is cheaper, but does almost as much, plus the 5 year warrenty is nice. I tried the tci controller first, but I wasn't happy with the way it shifted.

Thanks for the reply...I thought I remembered reading that you had tried two different controllers, but I couldn't recall which brands they were. Your experience has helped me eliminate the TCI unit from my choice list and now it's down to being between the US Shift and MSD controllers.

All the front suspension parts I've collected so far . Still need the wilwood brakes for the front . Then I can measure back spacing etc for front wheels and order them up .also need end links . I'm going to keep factory front sway bar for now as it pretty big. My car came with the sport suspension option

So this weekend I installed the ride tech tru turn and coil overs. Who ever owned this car before me must of had it greased with every.oil change . There was 30 years worth on the control arms lol. I also replaced everything else front end wise with moog parts. I tried to replace the steering box ( it was leaking) but the reman was a pos. I ended up changing all the seals on the original box and putting it back in. Car sits pretty low. I had to crank it up in the front. It rides real nice , but it needs a front end alignment. Now I need to fig out size/ bs for the front wheels and get them ordered before I install the brakes.
