It would be greatly appreciated by most of us out here if you could put together a parts list and resource guide for your steering wheel project. Your work rocks and I for one would like to do the same to my '02SS.
I think even a nominal charge would be acceptable for your efforts. Let us know!
I would be willing to make a batch of these adapter boards, provided there is enough interest.
I haven't researched the prices and efforts yet, but The my gut feeling is the price for a set of adapter boards would be under $100, provided I find 10-20 takers.
Not yet. I dont have a spare bag yet. The retainer clip for the horn on my clockspring is broken, so before I replace the clockspring and when I get spare bag I will try it. No timeline there though man.
I'm in for the steering wheel adapter as well. I already have the OLED that I haven't been able to install. Should be moving into the new house soon where I'll finally be able to get working on this!
I got all the pieces ready. Bought a brand new wheel from GM. Black leather with blue stitching. Got an airbag and did some custom work on the emblem. I was able to snag a blank control cover out of the junk yard since they don't just sell those. I didn't want buttons on the steering wheel. I think it looks great, but it'll be a few months till I get around to it I'm sure.
Let's just say it has carbon fiber, uses the stock air bag, has better thumb grips, D-shaped.... and bolts on just like factory, using the factory radio buttons as well.

It wasn't cheap, but not much more money than buying a new C6 wheel, along with the new steering column adapter, and radio switch adapter. But even better is that I know for a fact that the airbag works, and it's just a simple 10 minute swap.
I looked at it this way. Every time I drive the car, I'm touching the steering wheel the entire time, so it should be high quality, and that's what I'm getting.

I feel the same way, I wanted to get a nice wheel wrap from Redline but it would still be the awkward shape and the airbag cover would look the same so I never pulled the trigger.
