The sales race was actually pretty close. But the straight line wasn't. Ouch

Buying a fif gen just before a sis gen came out is like buying a 3V just before the coyote came out. lol

Troof. 5G L99 is a second slower than 6G a8. Even a bigger gap there than 2010 3v performance in comparison to the 2011 Coyote performance

GM cut fleet sales and raised the price with the 6g. Those are two big reasons.

To simply say more sales=better product is a ridiculous over simplification.

Whats cheapest is what sells is the one constant that's for sure.

I simply stated sales as a measure for me providing my basis that I doubt Ford will do much to the Coyote to keep up with the 6G stock for stock. It's like 98-02 all over again with the 6G now out and ahead. Biggest things I can see coming are maybe A10 and direct injection. But then again, Camaro will have the a10 as well. Hopefully the a10 proves to be as remarkable as the new a8
Camaro probably wont gain much if anything over the A8 with the A10. Ford however has alot to gain over the 6R80.

Greed probably plays into that, probably make more on a now older c7 platform sale. Either way it is not a good way to get them out there. Barley see any 6g's around here. And a gt350's are just a legend lol

The marketplace tends to pick the more desirable product.

Only place the 5G did well at

Think they sold well, because there was the gap, when GM quit making them.

Transformers came out too and everybody wanted a Bumblee Camaro with a cold air intake.

I will say, 5G being IRS and very smooth, it kind of started the realm of daily drivabale pony cars in my opinion.

I daily drive my s197 Br0 and would daily drive a 5G/6G/S550.

Probably wouldn't want to daily drive something as brash as an fbody

Oh yeah, forgot about the Bumble Bee Camero; that thing was a huge hit with the kids.

I agree. The car sells like crazy. Why spend money on it if you do not have to? Its the same as it was in the late 90s. They sold 2 valves like crazy. F bomb at same time sold poorly. LS commercials and ads were rare. Very small percentage of buyers are like us...meaning they care about speed.

Cutting fleet sales and price increase= not a good reason fur falling behind in sales

Transformers made the 5g outsell the s197 for a generation

Yeah that's a rock solid assessment

Yep, true. Ford managed to get away with the 2v due to sales and the 3v due to lack of competition for a long time. 5G forced them to produce the Coyote motor at record production pace.

You can find deals on the sexgen

That's a good price for a much better car than a s550

Sexgen outsold the mustang in September.

What a shocker. They made it cheaper. They offer incentives and it sells.

They over priced the sexgen. It's a nice car but the reality is i and probably many others would be happy if it wasn't trying to compete with bmw's inside the car......not that i think bmw interior is nice. But that perception is there.

Glad to see sales have finally rebounded for them. Just took 16% off or more and 0 for 72 incentives to push them out the door.

I agree. Still a good performance bargain compared to Euro stuff at that price point though, per usual.

They also lowered the price on some models. Not the SS.

Where did the overall sales go though? Camaro sales only slightly rose while the mustang's dropped significantly, Camaro sold less than 200 more cars. Did Dodge sell way more or did people just decided not to buy pony cars this month.

You can get a Bonus Tag rebate on all left over 16' model GM stuff right now and save huge... That's how they are getting 6Gs for $33k. Not to mention Supplier discounts and Loyalty programs.

I just got $15k off of a C7Z cashing in on these deals. When I bought my wife's 6G back in April, I couldn't get them to budge under $41k for a 2SS.....Now you can get them for $34k

Now is the time to buy GM stuff before the left over 16' inventory is gone.
