In fact if you want to figure the main purpose, cost, and simplicity the vette has no comparable car. That is the main reason it has been such a mainstay for an eternity.

Thanks

Been on and off with this site over the years but never frequented srk. It's pretty cool but you are right. I've been learning the hard way to just let things go.

Why bring up sales here?
Look up the new 5.2 crate Ford put out. It's not a flat plane crank to keep exclusiveness of the flat plane in the gt350. Seeing offerings like that I think Ford has an arsenal they could try to use, but I doubt they will given the sales stats. Ford is making money on the Mustang right now and very good money.

I simply stated sales as a measure for me providing my basis that I doubt Ford will do much to the Coyote to keep up with the 6G stock for stock. It's like 98-02 all over again with the 6G now out and ahead. Biggest things I can see coming are maybe A10 and direct injection. But then again, Camaro will have the a10 as well. Hopefully the a10 proves to be as remarkable as the new a8

You can build a crate motor and not worry about things a production engine needs duh. Not really comparable.

You didn't know!!?? The furd crowd believes they can beat anything with bolt ons. When the bolt ons 5bro loses its either , wasn't tune or it was the wrong bolt ons! We all know 5bros don't respond well to certain bolt ons only respond well to bolt ons when they win a race. 5bros can actually lose hp with the wrong bolt ons. It's pretty complicated.

Only reason why furd wont change it is because furd knows they have to put a large amount of money in the mustang to beat the new SS

Only difference it took a fbody way less mods to close the gap than it does a coyote to keep up with a sexgen

No point for Ford to invest more in Coyote. They are making a killing in sales

No Marc! You're wrong because Hio says so and that's final!

At the end of the day, the purpose of business is to make a profit for shareholders. Given the Mustangs sales numbers in comparison to the Challenger and 6G, I imagine they don't see the need to sink much more R&D into it

Better is the relative word there. Better because it's cheaper, or better because it's faster, better in the turns, better because it's a more popular choice??? Majority of the buyers probably don't care if it can clean up in a street race lol

Yes, true. The marketplace tends to decide superiority.

Not only do people not know **** about the actual mechanics of anything, things are all so reliable anymore they don't give a ****. Nobody keeps a car until it brakes and fixes it themselves or pays to have it repaired. If they did that more often there would surely be less Ford sales all together. That's just not practical for most people's lifestyle. I hate when anything mod motor or newer pulls in my drive wearing a blue oval. I usually tell them I'm snowed under fixing all of these junky *** GM's. LOL

Yep. Thats actually who the car was made for in the first place.

Ford camp invented the sales argument. I see they are back at it.

funny that guys who own the cars that lost the sales race are talking about it and the car that also won the sales for the generation (5g) is constantly ripped on.

Shocker...more nonsense and hypocrisy.

The superior performance car, is not always the superior seller. It tends to be more of a popularity contest.

For instance v6 to v8 sales on mustangs? I would not consider a v6 mustang superior

Sis gen has been nearly priced out of the market, around me. Seen a local Chev dealership advertising that you could get a new vette for less than a new camero recently. fack

I agree, 5G won sales race pretty decisively for picking up the rear in a straight line.
