Oil poured out of that oil-related fitting above filter when removed. Normal?

Default Oil poured out of that oil-related fitting above filter when removed. Normal?

You know where you connect your oil psi and oil temp sensors just above the oil filter? That. Is it normal for oil to pour out from there (about 200ml) when you remove it while the engine is off and cold-ish?

I have no engine dipstick so I'm paranoid I had/have too much oil in the sump.

you got a pic? are you talking about the external oil cooler block off or the threaded tube the oil filter screws onto? IME yeah oil drains out of the galleys after you pop the filter off.

i dont know what 200ml is...but like a cup or two cups seems normal

You're just draining the top end of the motor by pulling that cover. Won't give an indication of what's in the sump, install a dipstick ASAP...

No pic is needed. There is only one place where you usually connect your oil temp and/or oil psi sensors/fittings to, right above the oil filter area on the top rear left-hand side corner area of the oil sump/pan. It has 2 small nuts holding it in place and is about 2 inches wide and 1 inch tall.

Yeah 200ml is about a small cup. I think the average Coke can in the US is 355ml, so if you drank about 44% of it, you'd have around 200ml left.

Yes the oil filter has a check valve in it that holds oil in the oil galley from draining back into the oil pan when the engine isn't running. This is done so you don't start the engine with a dry oil gallery causing lifter clatter and bearing wear etc.

So if you had a pic, it would have been easier to confirm that the thing you are
talking about is the oil cooler block off plate, it just happens to be convenient
place to put a pressure sensor there.

i dont drink soda, how much is that in say, cups of coffee?

Don't understand about the dipstick, how hard could it be? At least consider adding an external sightglass to the pan...

Nope. There's only 1 oil-related thingo directly above the oil filter where you attach your oil-related fittings to. It couldn't be easier to understand or think of.

Not such a good idea since these level glasses need an opening on the top, otherwise it won't work.
