Snuck into the 5s last night at my local 1/8th mile track. The car was bracket car consistent. Only varied 2 hundredth between passes.

Also got some data on my converter using data logs from my Daytona Sensors WEGO 3. The converter was flashing to 5500 RPM on the launch and still dropping 1400-1500 RPM on the shifts. Hmmm. Restall the converter looser or add more nitrous......................which way to go?

Had a little fun at my local 1/8 mile track. I had to tone down the launch a bit as the track was a bit dirty and my 275s were at the end of their life, but was still able to run in the 5s:

All the popping, cracking and tire chirping is coming from the import in the other lane.

It did, but now I am making up for it with brute force.

I think a lot of it was the converter though. For some reason, the converter in the 4L80 is a lot tighter compared to the old converter in the TH200, even though it was supposed to be the same converter.

Went down to Bradenton Motorsports today. A lot of guys were spinning, but I was able to dead hook on two passes. I still had more tuning that I wanted to do, but my laptop gave up the ghost. Here is a timeslip from today:

Billet reverse manual valve body with billet Griner trans-brake. No controller needed :

you run a circle d right? I'm talking with Chris about doing an all motor converter for me. My converter is tight and falls 1800 on shifts. Need to find .2 to get me in 10s naturally aspirated

If you are falling 1800 on the shifts, then I bet your 60' times need some help too. When you get the converter right, I bet you will get your 2 tenths. I picked up exactly 2 tenths when I went from a Circle D 2c to a 4c with my old LQ9/TH200 combo.

The converters are much tighter in these 4L80s. You and I are not the only ones to notice. My transmission guy and few others have said it is due to the 4L80 having a higher "charge pressure" to the converter which make it act tighter.

I was the first one to have this valve body. I was the guinea pig. LOL. There were a few tweaks to the trans at first, but now it is on the money. An excellent working trans.

Yes. The 6.0 LQ9 had a Circle D 4c stall converter behind the TH200-4R.

To give you an idea of how tight and how much power these Circle D 245 mm converters can handle in a 4L80, here is my #3675 car running a 5.87 in the 1/8th (about a 9.25 in the quarter) on a healthy shot of nitrous.

Even with about 900+ HP going through it, the converter is flashing to 5800 RPM and still dropping 1000 RPM on the shifts.

the 4 c ran good on motor and a 150 shot i see. ive talked to Chris about a c for nitrous / motor combo or an E stator for Motor only but would not be good on street with a non lock up combo. He told me a C would fall about 1000 and E about 700 rpms. either would help in the quarter so a C would keep me able to drive more.

That Gif is just awsome to watch over and over
