Default 87 mustang coupe 6.0 aje trans crossmember not working

Got motor put in tonight with aje k-member. Also got the mu-7050 crossmember and its prob a good 4" away from lining up with my 4l60e. Not for sure if I got wrong crossmember but it's not working. I bought this thing awhile back so not to sure what can be done but what in the world is up?

The motor mounts can't go another way so they can't be backwards. I've got the long ends of the mount pointed towards the rear.

Any help is appreciated. Can send pics ifneed be.

UPDATE:: spoke to Jim over at AJE, I was told the mu-7050 is for earlier model 4l60 transmissions. If you have a 99+ 4l60e you need the mu-7052. Going to be swapping them out and i hope it installs easily.

The mount attachment point on the late model 4L60-4L70 with the multi-piece case is in the extension housing and is too far reward for a non-cantilevered crossmember to pick-up...the 4L60 transmission mount will be located behind the Fox body crossmember attachment pockets unless you position your engine in an extreme forward position. You'll need a different crossmember.

So there is another mounting point on the trans? I don't remember seeing anything but I'll look. I didn't see anything else to mount to the body either.

AJE's description of the application coverage of that crossmember is a little ambiguous as it states it's compatible with 700R4/4L60 transmissions. The mount pick-up point on a 700R4 and early one-piece case 4L60's is in the case like it is on a TH350. The mount pick-up point on the later multi-piece (bolt-on bellhousing) 4L60-4L70 transmissions is located further back in the extension housing of the transmission. Post an image of the bottom side of your transmission I can provide more detailed help to you.

I searched through a couple of build threads to find a photo for you that would depict the mount location of your transmission relative to the factory Fox body crossmember pockets...as you can see by this member's photo, the mount location behind the pockets, which requires some manner of compensation using the AJE crossmember you have.

Yeah, you're experiencing the same issue to a different degree. I didn't catch the year model of the car I nabbed the photo of, but it could be an early model Fox Body that had the narrower crossmember pockets, which would explain the difference in interference. If your transmission is a one-piece case with a non-removable bellhousing then your mount is also going to be a different distance from the engine/transmission mating plane than the one in the photo I posted.

I had this issue when I bought a aje crossmember off a user here. It was supposed to fit the 4l60 also but it didn't. I believe mine is the mu-7060 though. Ended up having the guy who did my exhaust work build me a crossmember for less than that junk aje cost.
