i think that is the going rate for a high quality wrap. $2200 is not unreasonable. I was looking at this, materials alone are around 500-800 and higher depending on the type of wrap.

i was looking at this one, it's 538 to achieve that jet stream blue look. That paint job would be 5-6k easily.

^yeah in general, labor for an average car seems to run $1000-2000+, and then add the vinyl material on top, which as you said on the low end will be 4-500, and can get into the thousands for your more extreme colors (i.e. colored chrome). The color I'm doing was $900 for the vinyl.. which I wasn't exactly happy about, but I had my mind set.

Looks just like SOM! Just out of curiosity, did you inquire with any shops on how much a repaint would be? Curious to how much of a difference it is between a wrap job.

Around here, im sure 3500 plus if not a lot more. If his car was really clean then This is a no brainer for a color change at 2200. He could easily spend 4k on a repaint and get destroyed on resale. This way new owner can keep it as is or peel and go back to stock. I dont see a downside. Repaint is a huge gamble on quality and almost always a downside. Would you buy a repaint vs all original...

Thanks guys for all kind words! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The stock paint was in mint condition due to my OCD and the fact the car has never seen snow in 15 years and rain maybe a couple dozen times. I still love the black and wasn't ready to let it go, whether that be sell the car for another color or repaint it, so I felt vinyl was the best way to satisfy my current desire for a SOM fbody haha.

Here are some pics of the paint...

The door/trunk jambs are still black. I could have had them wrapped as well, however, that would have upped the cost significantly as they take the doors off to ensure complete coverage. The underside of the hood is black, as well as the engine bay. (obviously)

I'd like to see the transition areas. Can you take some photos with the hood, doors and hatch open?

Your car looks great, by the way.
