I use my V as a daily driver and need a part for my sunroof, It's a little arm that lifts and lowers the back when opening and closing the sunroof. Does anyone have that part? Can you PM me?

The assembly of rails and motor weighs no where near 72lbs as that BMW was listed at. somewhere between 30-40lbs including the glass, which will be significant. I've had my hands on it all and the rails are thin metal and the motor is surprisingly small.

I like the way you think. Whatever the weight, it needs to be removed or relocated.

Once it's closed pull the fuse, it's under the back seat. Gm even left a small space in that fuse center where you can set the breaker once you pull it out.....it's like they were thinking ahead lol.

Is it the carbon fiber that makes this interesting.. or would aluminum shells also drum up some interest?

For me, it is removing dead weight above my head..... and filling a hole that should have never been cut to begin with.

I take it since you're again parting out your car OP that this project will not be moving forward?

Parting it out will just make it easier for me, since I'm not driving the car anymore. I just got a **** ton of work to do all of a sudden, but ill start it soon hopefully. Plus, even when I part it all out I wont be leaving the forum. Still need to continue my 2 door conversion project. Moving into a new house has slowed everything down.

I'm in for a CF replacement panel. Lose the glass, motor, whatever up there. Patch up the hole and lose the weight.

Question I'm interested in someone's undelete...

Ha ha. I'm not interested in the delete but I'd be interested in someone's undelete. One of the air break mounts broke on my son's car and it looks like we can't get a replacement for just that part -- we'll need to get the whole frame.

Any "deletes" want to sell your old frame?

Maybe not that rare. Three people, including me, have them in this thread.
