Is corvette fuel filter/regulator a straight swap to Fbody?

Question Is corvette fuel filter/regulator a straight swap to Fbody?

obviously there is 1 extra port on the vette filter/reg then on an fbody one.... but will the vette filter/reg directly replace the fbody one? and then just run a return line from the return port to the tank? thanks for any advice

you may have to remove the stock f-body regulator on the pump module inside the tank... but dont quote me...

Fbodies already have a return line. That is why there are 3 ports on th fuel pump module. Ther is a "T" below driver seat pan basically. It is after the fuel filter.

We do have a kit avail to use the vette filter in place of that T and uses a filter delete for the stock fbody filter also. It ties into the stock return as well so you have a regulator and return line.
You will still need to remove the stock reg in the tank as well, we have the convoluted tube line to replace that also.

Would the F-body filter be cheaper than the Y-body filter...?

Did your in-module regulator fail, or something...?

I'm not sure, but it's not good to run two regulators in series... the downstream regulator may interfere with the operation of the upstream one... but I'm not sure.

The fbody filter doesnt have a reg return the vette does that is why he was asking about using it.

Yessir.

$125 shipped including the vette filter.
It includes all 3 quick disconnects that attach to filter and 3 adapters from AN to hard to (compression sleeve) so no flaring needed. Works with reg fuel or E85. Here is a generic picture of what the filter assy would look like not including the tube adapters. and comes with 2 6an-3/8 tube adapters and 1 6an-5/16 tube adapter



We are changing over to a new site and have not been able to get everything together to get this listed yet.

This has roused my curiosity... do you have a specific reason for doing this...?

I don't like the vette regulator/filter because it locks your fuel pressure to 60psi. Call me crazy but I like to be able to adjust it whenever I feel like it. A regular regulator like aeromotive will work in place of it just fine, whether you have a return style or returnless style system.

If you're doing this for the AN fittings, doesn't that AN fitting/converter also go on the F-car filter...?

personally I am using a hose clamp in one of those pretend-an fitting end. apparently, its ok to put a hose clamp on braided stainless fuel line. I don't forsee any issue at up to 80psi, and honestly with as trick as hose ends are, I actually trust a hose clamp on my fuel line more than I trust some of those AN fittings you can buy.

An fittings do not work on the fbody filter only 1 side.

The fbody filter looks like above.

The return T is farther up the line under the driver seat. Our kit goes in place of the T as it uses all 3 lines, feed from tank, feed to engine, return to tank. Then you delete the orig fuel filter with prob a dorman hard line splice kit. No hose clamps, no braided line, no zip ties no extra routing.
Any external frp kit would run at least that if not more and would prob be stuf on top of the fuel feed line then plumbed into the intake with all other ports capped. Not a very good situation esp with the return happening so far back down the line and the filter before that return also.

If you are going that far we either have a full 8an feed/6an return kit with adj fpr and teflon line with quick connects and billet rails from racetronix for 575 or we can custom design one as well for nearly the same price. Works with E85 also and can support 1k hp.

There is no reason to up your pressure unless you are running out of injector. If thats the case the correct thing to do is buy bigger injectors.

installed a 450 pump and was looking for the easiest most efficient way to regulate fuel...

"Feeling like it" is a foolhardy reason to mess with your fuel pressure. As said above, if you need to raise it, get bigger injectors. Varying fuel pressure without knowing the resulting flow rates is foolhardy, as the tune is thrown off along with it. Experimentation without known data can get expensive fast, unless you have an unlimited budget. Shooting in the dark can have consequences....
