LS3 in 82 Volvo 242
Performance results? It’s a helluva lot quicker than it was with the 5.0L. And so far better fuel mileage. Much quieter and more refined. I suspect you meant something more quantifiable such as a 1/4 mile time. Not available. I’m old and got most of the shenanigans that lead to tearing stuff up out of my system when I was racing SCCA. But 440HP+\- in 2980 lbs is predictable. Knock a second off for insufficient traction.

A few years back (with 340 or so 5.0L Ford HP) I paid a few bucks to lap Road Atlanta at lunch time during the Walter Mitty. 3 groups of cars took the track - by luck, I was the last car in the last group. In front of me was a C6 Corvette (stock, more or less) and in front of him a pretty wicked turbo Miata. The Miata immediately slowed down and let the other cars move several corners ahead. And that gave us 2 or 3 corners to turn up the wick a bit. So we did 8-10 laps that way - waiting for others to pull away and then blasting back up to them. No one was running at 10/10ths -- but at 7/10ths, I was pretty well glued to the back of the Vette. As we left the track, he pulled over in the paddock and waved me down. Pulled up next to him and he's like "....do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to look in the mirror and keep seeing that Volvo emblem in the grill?" We both got a good laugh out of it.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I hung around to the end of the Hendrick show because I just had a feeling after watching the judges look at the car (on the ground looking underneath, front and back and giggling like school girls the whole time) that I just might have a chance.
