I was hoping the Rocket Mod would be some sort super secret Tony Mamo ported hydrogen fuel cell direct injection manifold prototype you were about to share with us - darn spell check.

...still we may have some interesting information coming soon

I don't know what your looking at to draw that conclusion. The numbers between the two are not even close. Even if both heads were tested on a 4" bore ,they would not be close

I was looking at the stock LS3 head flow at .500 at 262 cfm. That is pretty close to a 243 head numbers, except that Black Bird indicated this bench seems to flow less than others so it may not be a valid comparison.

You did not read graph correctly it seems. That is his new Reher Morrison ls3 heads flowed with a stock ls3 intake on it. Not a stock ls3 head being flowed.

Darth stepped up and supplied a BBK intake manifold for testing!

Thanks Darth!

There is also a trick Radius Rod LS3 intake coming...picture and details probably on Saturday so the rectangle side isn't left out

There might be another cathedral intake too not sure yet.

BTW - Let's please spare bashing any intakes, TB's or cylinder heads.
I don't want that type tone in the thread.
Even the lowly EGR less LS1 intake has its place - at least as a base line part to test or for someone on a very tight budget.

Amen to that.

This thread is a marvel with all the scientific and educated info in it, no need to ruin it with flame wars. I highly appreciate the effort, dedication and money (!) that the author puts into this. And I'm still holding my fingers crossed that there will be a stock LS6 intake and a snout-modded LS6 intake in the next test run. I could provide the former if I wouldn't live in the old world over the big pond

Thank you

The LS6 intake will have its day in testing

When the 99 TA gets the new 416, the old LS1 will be donating an LS6 intake for baseline testing. That will be part four is a few months away. That old EGR less LS1 intake will get used as a cover for the old LS1 while the LS6 gets tweaked with a 90mm snout and maybe even ported...thats the long term plan.

Let's thank Jim Muller for pulling his Rick Crawford Radius Rod LS3 intake for flow testing. Rick Crawford also deserves a big thank you for checking this intake and quickly forwarding to me for the flow test.

I've contacted the shop to set up flow testing hopefully in a week or so we will have data. The intake will be tested with my Reher-Morrison ported LS3 heads as per prior test process.

I think the RC RR LS3 looks good!

Peak inside the Rick Crawford trick radius rod mod'd LS3 intake

I like this idea...

What's the purpose of the steel rods in the LS3 intake? Strength?

Supposedly they are radius rods to direct airflow.
