LS1 automatic fluid test sample
I bought a 1999 LS1 with a well built A4 and Torque converter at 117,000 miles and it was installed around 100,000 miles. The question is idk what kind of fluid it is, it's amazingly still clear reddish looking and never got dark! I am very funny when is comes to transmission changing and want to keep the same stuff. QUESTION IS : WHERE CAN I SEND A SAMPLE TO SEE WHAT KIND IT IS? I use to be friends with the kid that owned it but we have beef and we don't talk to each other it was over something stupid.Car has 167,000 hard miles and it still shifts hard and fast. From someone that owned a 6speed this thing pulls. I over heard it had some parts from a 4l80E or truck upgrades put into it.

Thanks, not sure what kind of fluid that the shop added when it was rebuilt and I'm very edgy on what to choose. Hopefully it will tell me if it's synthetic and the other details. I have never seen an Automatic transmission stay so clean for so long with the way I drive it and the shifts are always fast and hard. I notice with HP Tuners software I have, the transmission shop did a lot custom configurations with this transmission. The line pressure, numbers, and the thousands of terms used that were added and ignored/turned off is crazy.

It has a huge aftermarket pan with a drain plug but since it's a new transmission and Torque converter and this is the first change there will be probably some shavings or debris. I really wanted to just drain it lol.
