Going for twin GT35's. Hoping to use two stock passenger side manifolds...
Here's some pic's of the Schedule 40 pipe and the passenger side manifold. The opening on the manifold, the way I cut it, is kinda ovalized. But once I heat the end of the schedule 40 straight enough, I can shape it to match perfectly.
They are the On3 GT35's, T3 flanged, journal bearing, 61mm .68 A/R. Bought them a few years ago. They've been sitting, new in the box, since then. I think I paid a little over $6xx for the pair of them.
Given the fantastic weather we had today (near Albany, NY) I decided to take the Z28 out to meet my wife for lunch. I'm reminding myself I'll have to do this as often as possible since the much hated snow and road salt will be surrounding all of us soon. The car is just shy of scary in its acceleration, having got to 19.5psi in a 2nd gear blast. That these engines can go from near stock docile behavior to banshee in the quick push of the gas pedal is nothing short of astonishing. I don't really need the twins but I do need something to work on this winter.

Trimmed truck Manifold > about 7.5" of sched 40 off the end of the manifold > 1/2" thick T3 flange > GT35.
I will be adding as strut/brace or two to help support the weight of the turbos.
Like I said, this is all conceptional. I'll have to see if it will work out as I envision.

- 1. Removed Battery from stock location and moved it to the trunk. Running 1/0 welding cable from the hatch to a bulkhead fitting I installed in the shifter boot hole. The other side of the bulkhead connector goes to the starter. Running a heavy wire from the alternator to the battery positive. I'm running two 1/0 ground cables to the body. One in the hatch from the negative battery post, the other off passenger head to the fender. I've bought a plastic battery box with which to house the battery. Still weighing whether to mount the box in the middle cavity of the hatch area or to put it where the spare tire used to be.
- 2. Took out the CXRacing hotside and the PT7675, plus most of the cold side.
- 3. Bought some schedule 40 weld-Els and 2' of schedule 40 straight pipe.
- 4. Bought and cut down a couple pairs of stock truck manifolds to get 2 passenger sides. Trimmed them too, taking off the 'bumps' for the heat shields, etc. Passenger side manifold is 'upside down' so the exit is on top. Drivers side has bottom exit.
- 5. Been weighing the various placements for the twins. If I want aesthetics and symmetry, then I have to place them more towards the middle. Unless, I can find that elusive write up on how/where to relocate the stock fuse box. Alternately, If I don't care about aesthetics, I can put the passenger turbo over where the battery was and put the driver side somewhat in front of the power steering.
- 6. Using the manifolds this way allows me to run a 4" downpipe, at least it looks like it. I'd create a merge of the 3" pipes leaving each turbo.
- 7. I've opted to forego a complete schedule 40 hotside because of the weight(suspending two turbos off the end of a relativelyl long connector with schedule 40 would be substantial weight, even with bracing) and the 'scalability' since I want to be able to take off the GT35's and install my 'near twin' PT7675 and ON3 78mm T4 flanged turbos if I want to get scary. So, I bought some stainless 2.5" mandrel pipe/bends and 2.5" V-Band clamps. Hoping I can find a median position were each setup will fit with just a change of connector pipes from the manifolds to the turbos to the downpipe.
- 8. 'devil in the details' stuff: Creating/getting a T fitting for oiling the turbos and a merge for the drains going into the existing passenger side -10AN port on the oil pan. While I have two turbosmart wastegates, I only have one Tial 50mm bov.
- 9. Went ahead and bought a 'box o' fittings' 2.5" intercooler piping/couplers/T-bolt clamps.
- 10. Don't know if I can (or want to ) leverage my existing 3" in/out front mount intercooler into the new setup. Probably too restrictive for the potential of this new setup.

Mine are T3 Flanged 61/67 with .63 A/R, journal bearings.
These are t3 .82 ar 61/63 billets. It's just on a sbe ls1 so I'd be stoked with 600whp, shouldn't have any problem there.

It's actually 2.5" schedule 40. I wanted the same manifold's to allow me to hang either my small twins or my 76mm (PT7675) and 78mm(ON3) if I feel like it, by only swapping the turbos and the short v-band connectors/adaptors.
They are mild steel schedule 40 pipe and Ells. I like the visual appeal of TIG and plus, it makes me look like I'm a better welder than I really am
