Guess I haven't been keeping up, what are the other complaints, especially and common ones?

Comp uses older machines for one-off custom ground cams. That's why I DO NOT RECOMMEND you get a custom cut Comp Cam. It will be a crapshoot.

Get a shelf grind cam. They use their new CNC machines to cut bulk cam orders. They are typically within .5 degrees. So like BTR or Speed Inc or any of the folks who stock "shelf" grinds of their own design, are cut in bulk orders. And those are well tested. So they work.

If you truly need a custom cam, Cam Motion is the way to go.

Cam material and spring failure, especially among the popular 918's

There was a problem with lobes scuffing really bad. Suspected bad hardening process.

And keep in mind - i am just one data point. Others had fantastic results with a comp cam and 918 springs.

I want to say over 50% of the cams out there are ground still by comp.

Stats are funny that way. As many cams, etc. as Comp has out there, 1% is a number that still gets your attention. And a few bad apples.... well you know the rest!

Also, Comp is now offering a mirror polish/finish on all new cams called (microscopic surface enhancement) MSE. Just saw that today.
