Not a bad idea. I wonder if possible to put it into an aerosol can.

Is anyone running a 4 piston front brake setup with their 17" racestars? Figured this thread would be a good place to ask.

My racestars are 17x7 with 4" backspacing and I was wondering what options there are. At first I was thinking about the JL9 c7 brakes but those brakes on stock ZR1 wheels which are 17x9 with 7" backspace require a 5mm spacer to clear.

Doesn't look like they will work with racestars. What other 4 piston options are there?

Just curious, what size tire are you running on the 17x7s I just got mine and have been on the fence with tire size. Any pics?

Thanks for this. Post #624 shows 17x4.5 race stars (I'm assuming 1.75" backspacing) work with the Z06 rotors which are 13.9' part number 1771126 and CTS-V calipers which are part number 1722287 and 1722288.

The backspacing for that 17x4.5 wheel assuming 1.75" has a -25.44mm offset, which means good caliper clearance.

So the question is will CTS-V calipers clear my 17x7 race stars with 4" backspacing, as they are a 0mm offset.
Seeing as how 0mm is the lowest offset they make in a 17x7 race star and post 521 shows a set of 17x7 fit, looks like I'll be good.

The lower the offset, the more clearance for the calipers. The CTS-V sticky states that a wheel with anything less than a 41mm offset will fit. Another thread talks about converting to 2014+ c7 jl9 base brakes with Acdelco brembo calipers- 722586/87 and rotors #1771155, but those rotors are only 12.64"

The larger diameter of the rotor, the more force that is available to stop a wheel.

I think Draggin10 and myself are wondering what the tire size is, not the wheel size.

What modifications required to fit such as narrowed rear end, roller fender lip etc ?

Some say you have to massage the calipers, some say not. Did you?

EDIT: Oops - questions answered in an earlier post.

maybe someone has tried it and not posted. i've seen the question asked, not answered best I can tell in the 19 pages of posts.

looking to do a 17/17 combo w 17x9.5s because mostly street car but looking at 5.25bs for 3" narrowed rear. Would like it to tuck in under the fender, not a fan of it sticking out.

I did have a narrowed Moser rearend on my Camaro - one inch each side.

Back in the day (2005-2007) there weren't a lot of drag wheel options for the Camaro because of the caliper issue and 7.5 inch backspacing.

I have since sold the Moser and went back to a beefed up 10 bolt.

The issue with a narrowed rearend, IMO, is if you want to run two set of wheels - drag and street.

With the narrowed rear end I could run Centerline Warriors with just a 6.5 inch backspacing. The tires would still show outside of the fender lip - but not too much. With the Centerline Warriors I did not have to grind the calipers.

However, when putting the ZR1 wheels back on I had to use spacers, else the tire fit, IMO, was too far in because of the 1 inch narrowing on each side. And also with a spacer you have to have longer studs. Plus I am not a fan of spacers - front or rear. Was always afraid a spacer if it slipped just a little might share off a lug or two.

So if you can find wheels for the rear with a 7.5 inch backspacing and are not looking to stuff a huge tire into the wheel well I would not choose to narrow the rear end again (if you plan to run a set of wheels and tires for the street).

That is what I really like about these wheels. I can run on the street if I want and if really want to go to a 15 tire, I can on these. yes that would mean 6 rims, but at least they will always look the same.

so I want 17/17 to run a 275/40/17 all the way around. and then maybe a 15x8 to run a drag radial if I wanted to.

Here is my set. 15x3.5 fronts with 15x8 rears. 275/60 on the rears the fronts have too small of a front tire on them since I got them and I have been trying to find a tire for them. I have been trying to find a 26 in tall front tire that is not a sportsman since that will fit on the rim but since the front is so narrow U have not. Also been trying to find a good set of lugs as the ones that came with the wheels feel cheesy and the chrome plating looks like a **** poor job.
