Default LS NEXT II 427" Build For F1a94 ProCharger

This year I am transitioning from nitrous to ProCharger. So, I sold my old 403" LS2 short-block and I am building an LS NEXT II, aluminum full-skirt block based 427" short-block for forced induction.

Here is the breakdown:

  • Callies Dragon Slayer Crankshaft -APO31T-DS with 58x billet reluctor
  • Carrillo Forged I Beam "1500 HP" forced induction connecting rods - BCLSX612571
  • Diamond's new 2000 HP Forced Induction Pistons with tool steel wrist pins -21544
  • Total Seal Steel top ring piston ring set
  • GM Performance 6-Bolt Head Gasket - 19170419 or maybe Cometic MLX
  • Dart Pro 1 LS3 cylinder heads CNC ported by Frankenstein Engineering Dynamics - 11030050(bare head part #)
  • Edelbrock Super Victor Intake ported by Frankenstein Engineering Dynamics
  • T&D Shaft Mounted Aluminum Roller Rocker Set - 20044
  • Cam Motion 8620 LLR Low Lash Solid Roller Camshaft 247/261 on 116.5+4.5 with .689"/.672 Gross Valve Lift - 03-08-0000 LL247/405-LL261/395-16.5+4.5
  • Cam Motion Premium Solid Roller Lifters with Axle Oiling & .750" wheel - LS034122201
  • Cam Motion 3/8" Diameter, .135" Wall 7.550" long Pushrods - PS17550201
  • Cam Motion LS Premium .750" Street/Strip Double Spring Kit With Titanium Retainers - VSK143306
  • ProCharger F1a94 with Cog-Drive 71 Crank and 40 Tooth Blower Pulley (72,000 RPM @ 7500 engine RPM)
  • CSU 850 CFM e85 Blow Through Carburetor with 4 needle and seat bowls

The stuff has started coming in, so pics are next.

The ProCharger and matching camshaft:

ProCharger sent a nice hat with the kit, but I think it is a bit small for me.

The heads arriving. I have already run these on my old nitrous setup, so more pics to come when they are cleaned up again. The Dart Pro1 LS3 heads are excellent to start with, but even these great heads picked up nearly 3 MPH in the 1/8 mile when Frankenstein reworked them. Amazing.

Yeah, if it tries to go that fast, I will turn it down. I don't want to go that fast in this chassis. That is one of the reasons it has the F1a94 and not the F1x.

They were never flowed. I don't know if Frankenstein has flow numbers for this head program or not, I would have to ask.

Rock hard over the blow through, though I have yet to achieve completion like A.R. did.

Do you drive this thing on the street still?

Absolutely! It is primarily a street car. If I were to have a racecar, I would use something light! LOL. When it is on the road, I drive it about 2-3 times a week. I love driving it. It has overdrive, full interior with factory console and seats, power steering etc.

Here are some pix before the 6-point and the Welds:
