I am linking a few links to this thread since it's difficult to find alot of info on these things when they were around. This guy has a 3 inch pulley on a kit claiming 8 PSI:

http://www.mifbody.com/forums/forum/...m-bd11-a-8-lbs

Here is that aussie thread I think I mentioned about what I believe was the stock pulley, 3.47 inches:

http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/archive/...p/t-83224.html

Here is a few pics of the kit installed on a member's car. I forget his user name but he had nothing but issues with the kit (really nice guy btw, answered my email recently):

That's good to hear. If that guy was able to run a 3 inch pulley with a stock crank pulley he was spinning it pretty fast which is surprising but time will tell. Its all speculation at this point until I get it moving.

A little progress update:

It finally started to get a little warmer here so I tackled a small project by fixing the gas gauge sender in the car. Worked great.

Finally got my blower volute back. In the end he scrapped the cast outlet and fabbed one up for me. It won't be winning any beauty pageants but it works and its strong. I could grind down the welds and make it look perfect but then you can't see the the work that went into it (and I am lazy.....mostly lazy). I like a little character. I reclocked the blower for how I want it to face. Next step will be the fan install + the SPAL relay kit.

Did a little work today. A small joh wound up taking hours because of electrical issues caused by me. Anyway used a SPAL relay kit to power the fan setup i got. Tapped the low speed trigger wire to run it and ran into issues with it turning on with the key off as soon as i gave it a 12v key source. In the end i removed both factory fan relays from the fuse box and everything began to work as it should. This thing draws some amps. The system takes a bit of a hit when it fires up so im glad il be doing the 145 upgrade. I hate the LT1 radiator support with this shroud so i ordered the ati sheet metal support (which i didnt realize existed until today, thought it was part of that bulky ATI y connection, box, thing.

I have about zero room between the upper radiator hose and the WP pulley so i need to look into that but all in all, its progress.

Got a good amount of work done today. Finally did all 8 plugs, replaced them with TR6's gapped at .35. I want to try and keep the gap as large as possible and at 6 PSI i think she'll be fine. Once I was done I decided to tackle the alternator upgrade. Went in very easily without the factory face on the driver side. I had a ton of room and I'm glad I did it as the factory alternator's + post was loose and the plastic parts on the back side had some cracking and deterioration. These bolts need to come out in order to bolt the blower bracket on (and it used the idler pulley hole as a mounting point as well) but I put it all back together to test out the alternator and make sure I had no issues. Next on the list is fix all those power steering lines and replace the junk the guy before me replaced the factory PS cooler with. I am going to use a Derale cooler.

Here you can see the fan setup a bit better

I took care of few things last week and today. I replaced the jumbled garbage that was the power steering cooler the previous owner added. I replaced it with a derale cooler and redid the hoses. Much cleaner and it actually does it's job. Today I took care of the FIC 42lb injectors. Tuning was idiot proof, fired right up and after running into a minor problem with the check engine flashing (I didn't seat the driver's side front injector plug correctly) it runs great. I took it for its first drive in nearly 5 months and it did great. I began just playing with the charge pipe placement to see how much room I have etc. If i can get it to line up like this mock up, it will be nice and clean.

Jumbled mess of hoses:

Derale cooler:

Next week I will start installing the supercharger bracket. I will need to mock up the blower and start measuring to get the proper pulley placement, then machine the pulley to accept a "tall offset" as they say.

Here is a mock up of the charge pipe. I will need to get it go straight down from here directly into the blower discharge. I am hoping it all just lines up but honestly I have no idea if it will but it sure looks clean.

Been alittle while since I updated. Currently I am awaiting blower bracket to alternator bracket spacers. They are alittle unique and the ones superchargerrebuilds.com sent were wrong. I contacted them and a friend to make a set to my specs...we will see who sends them first. I also had a debacle with HP tuners but that has been fixed and now the car runs a 2bar OS. Hopefully I'll have the spacers soon and will be able to mount the supercharger in place. After that I will need to send measurements to ASP who said they can make a pulley for me with the proper offset (great guys to deal with)

I've been looking for a blower build like this. It'll be fun to see how this turns out.

Of everything you've done so far, the most impressive is finding a $3500 WS6 in that shape. I sold a totaled z28 for more than that a few years back, and I live out in the boonies.

I appreciate it. I will actually receive the spacers from superchargerrebuilds.com on Friday. Hopefully Sunday or Monday I'll get a chance to try and mount the blower. After I get the spacing right it's just a matter of ordering the pulley and it's good to go (other then intake piping)

Ok, finally some real progress. Superchargerrebuild.com has been a super big help. He was able to track down the correct pieces for the blower bracket to alternator. I have one of the three and the other two are on the way. However I was able to create the last two using two spacers after cutting one in half and throwing it on a lathe. Though this would work just fine, I want single spacers because I am ****. For testing purposes, this works well though establishing my distances. So with the blower bracket mounted and the ATI shroud in place, the total distance available comes in at around 8'' from bracket to shroud, giving me a nice snug fit with the blower set up the way it is. I still have about a 1/2 inch i can trim off the coupler between the blower and the inlet 90 to make it tighter if I need to. The discharge should be literally perfectly lined up with my mocked up intake pipe as it comes in about 3 inches past the 2nd bolt hole on the bracket mounting point. It will all be snug but if my math was correct, it should fit very nicely.

I found that the blow through maf was a no go if I wanted the intake to sit the way I have it now. I added a BBK TB and it spaces the throttle body out like another 1/4 inch or so. The original idea here was to drill the spacer for a meth nozzle but that wont even be necessary now as the maf is no longer in the way. I will leave it speed density for now and all the maf as a draw through when it needs to go to the emissions stations.

In addition I also rerouted the upper radiator hose to get it to not only give me the clearance between it and the accessories but to also not interfere with the intake piping.

Keep in mind in the photos that the blower bracket is not exactly where it should be, its slightly tilted to the passenger side as i dont have the other two motioning points in yet.

Here is a picture of the rerouted upper hose. Took me a long time to figure out a good routing plus find a hose that would work. I had to stretch it over that hard pipe but in the end it worked.

So the update is that I ran into like five problems at once. ASP made me a custom pulley to my specs but made it 8 ribs wide which is a no go because I have about 1.3 inches, depth wise, to fit a pulley. The pulley came in at 1.35 alone + the offset away from the bracket which pushed its height to around 1.475. Soooooo I decided to machine the bracket and pulley to pull it below the bracket line. Since the pulley is wide and flat, no need to have it ride anywhere specific so in theory as long as the pulley fits in the 1.3 inches of space, the belt can ride wherever it wants as the guide walls on the pulley arent doing anything anyway. Next was the space between the radiator fan shroud and the blower, which is non existent so I pulled the shroud and need to rethink the fans. Anyway here is the bracket mounted so people can see where it goes etc.

the radiator hose will need to be rerouted as well to clear the discharge, which has been cut off and is being rewelded at a 45.

Been super busy lately so i haven't had time to update. I mounted the blower, my clearances are perfect between it and the radiator, the pulley at fhe alternator bracket and the alignment to the tb will be a 90 degree coupler. I ran into a small problem with one of the blower bolts touching the alternator so its back apart. Here is a picture of the new modified volute. I had it done by a place out here by me. They ported the housing to match the vibrant three inch elbow.

It runs. Finally. Final assembly wasnt too bad. I shaved the bolt head of one of the blower bolts by like 50% and shaved thr face of the alternator pulley to make clearance. Had to make a allen key to tighten that bolt which was a bit of a pain. Radiator hose looks decent. She needs a coupler and a few things welded (iat bung, diverter valve nipple).

Looking good.

Finally got mine tuned and running. Still some minor hickups with poor idling sometimes (weird as if i leave run for a bit before i move it no issues but if i start and move immediately its dumb)

Gotta let us know what numbers it puts down after its complete.

thanks man! Unfortunatly i couldnt use the shroud. The spacing is like non-existent between the blower hat and the radiator. Oh well. Hopefully i can get the radiator hose done this weekend and mock up a and finish the intake pipe. I just wanna wash it haha. I have a video of it running ill post.
