Ls3 6.2
would you split the heads?... I have a buddy looking for heads for his 6.0 iron block he's building... I thought about buying the whole motor and selling the heads to him but the only thing I would want personally is the bare block and I don't think it would be worth the effort on my part... but if you are willing to separate it I will relay this to him, he needs everything valve covers and all

So no response? And now in the Texas section I read that my above assumptions are correct? Anybody with solid info, feel free to chime in...
01 WS6 6.0 sold me the L92 long block 100% "running smooth" out of his "buddy's 2013 Escalade with 40k miles" that he himself helped him pull it out for an LSX build. At this point I come to the conclusion that part of it was my fault for ignoring the signs. However, this person should never be dealt with again and should even get banned for everything he's done.
The seller posted the engine as an LS3 block but as you can see in the pics, it's an L92 oil pan. He did then correct the thread as an L92 long block. Thru texts, he assured me multiple times that he pulled the motor from his best friends truck for an LSX build. He assured me that it was running smooth and all. He even went to say that he would never screw anyone over because he has "heart".
The seller supposedly had sold it to someone else when I first contacted him. I told him I had the $2,500 that he was asking in cash. He then told the other buyer that he was gonna sell it to me instead. At $2,500 i jumped on it and drove to Houston to pick it up. Once I got there, the first sign of shadyness from this liar/scammer was when he wanted to meet behind a WalMart parking lot. I told him to meet me at the corner gas station instead.
So we meet up and the first thing I see is that its just rolling around upside down in the back of the truck he was in. I thought ok im sure he only drove it a few miles anyway. So I start to look at it and I immediately notice that the block was spray painted silver. I then noticed that the coolant plugs on the sides of the block were rusted. So the paint was to cover all that up. I thought ok, maybe Houston has higher humidity than Dallas, must be normal. The oil pan was already off and visually, i only noticed dark oil. I called him out on it and told him it doesnt look nothing like what I expected and he assured me again that it was running in his buddys truck and he pulled it himself.
I told him I didnt want it since it was actually for a buddy of mine. But he seemed all upset that i wasnt going to get it. After he assured me many times that it was running and legit, I offered him $2,000 and he agreed.
When I got back in Dallas, I started to pull off the heads but the pushrods were jammed in there. Took me a while to finally pull them off. Once inside, I noticed very bad burn marks on all the cylinders along with rust. It was then obvious that the motor was hydro locked. I turned it upside down and took out a rod cap. The bearing had spun and the rod was slightly bent.
I got really frustrated and just stopped right there and havent messed it with it since. It's no where near the condition he guaranteed that it was in. I posted the pic and he texted me right away. He said he would refund me money if i sent him pics, which i did. He said he would give me $500 back if i kept the junk and didnt post anything on LS1tech. He also said if I drive back he would refund the $2000. But from what he says so far, im sure he'd just give me the run around. I got busy at work this past weekend so i just put it aside. I texted him yesterday and he said he was waiting on me. He said that he couldnt refund anything anymore because he supposedly spun a rod bearing on his car and needed the money. After todays post by SSHAWK, he offered $300 to shut me up. I told him $800 or full refund. I told him to send me his address and hes saying not until im on my way to Houston so he can "meet me at his house". Im sure hes gonna give me a fake address or give me more lies.
I rather just put this out there since he bashed himself so others can learn from this bad experience. Also to warn people about him. JMAC was right, hes a good liar.
