Default Anyone used a 2005ish Tahoe fuel pump assembly?

I think a 2005 Tahoe fuel pump module will fit my tank, but there's a couple of fittings inside the tank I'm not sure about. I'm reasonably sure they're just vents and if I just hook the vent hoses to the outside I'll be fine, but was wondering if anybody could tell me for sure what they went to inside the tank. I'm wanting to use a fuel pump module because there's no way to get any kind of baffle inside my tank, and also want one with a built in pressure regulator so I don't have to mess with the corvette filter, just want to run a single line to the engine. I've checked the service manual, and it just says to unhook the lines and hook them back up when replacing the pump, but doesn't go into any detail on what they are for.

Wouldn't it be feed, return and vent?

I don't think so? 2005's are returnless so I was thinking there was just a feed line and the regulator was built in the pump module. I'm thinking the lines are one for the feed line, the small vent to the purge solenoid and the big one to the fuel filler vent. I may just have to hit the pick n pull and look for myself, I feel better about things when I can actually see them in person.

I think you're right on the external connections (fill vent and evap) but not sure what it connects to inside the tank. Might try the forced induction section on performancetrucks , Probably get a quick answer there

I have done it with my skylark. I LEARNED not to buy the CHEAP ones on ebay and both failed after sitting over winter. GO with AC DELCO it cost more but better assembly. Both cheap pumps bought, 1 runs but no pressure and other stuck. I cut tank recessed assembly to clear trunk floor and have a 6x6 box 4 inch deep on bottom of tank. Pump assembly bottom submerged in gas all times. Run the single feed line with good fuel filter up to engine. I'm running stock fuel sender for guage and only vent hose hooked up. All others capped off, even the emission stuff on pump assembly. So far everything working well no problems.

Default Pumps

I just changed the pump assembly on my 03' Tahoe. It is different that the 05' pump. FG0324 vs FG0808 for the 05'.

If there is one at work, I will pull it and check to see if I can figure out what the ports are for and if they are needed.

I've attached two pictures of my 03' / FG0324 pump.

I've used the older ones before with good luck, they are pretty self explanatory. I was just basically wondering what the connections inside the tank hooked to. I pulled a fuel pump module from a 2004 Silverado yesterday and it's the same size as the Tahoe one on the top, but its just way too tall. It also has three fittings on it, the feed line and two vents. One went to the charcoal cannister and the other went to the fuel filler neck up high. There were no connnections inside the tank, just a roll over valve looking thing. I'm thinking I will just get a Tahoe pump and hook the two extra fittings to a vent.

Well its kind of a moot point now, the sender is going to be just too big for the way my tank is shaped. So looks like its back to the 2003 and older pump with the Vette filter/regulator. So bczee, if you still have that pump lying around, could you get me a measurement of it both fully extended and compressed?

Here you go...

The 03' Tahoe pump assembly is 9" extended and 7.5" compressed from the bottom of the can to the inside of the flange with the rubber gasket in place.

I have 06 Silverado one in my skylark. single feed line going to motor. Has built in regulator. Ports for evap stuff I capped off. seems to be fine

cut up a new replacement tank. recessed it so clear trunk floor.

bottom as pump assembly was taller than tank. Plus pump now in that area wont run dry. It sits rite behind rearend center
