Default PRC 225s cam selection

Just curious what cam specs you all would go with on a typical hci ls1 6 spd with PRC 225s 62cc, ported FAST 92/92 and full exhaust. Car is basically just a weekend warrior with track time once or twice a year. I sent out a custom cam sheet to BTR and still waiting to hear back. Want something that will work well with the PRC 225s. Curious on your alls thoughts and how they will compare to BTRs recommendation.

23X/24X with a 4.30 gear would be nice.

Depends on street or track use. BTR stage 2 is a nice street cam. The BTR stage 3 would have a bit more punch up top for a weekend warrior.

Get with tsp on a cam since they know the heads.

Cam Motion LS1 Titan 4 (227/232) or Titan 5 (232/238) depending on
gear ratio and quality of tune. I would go 4 myself.

Didnt realise they made a Titan V, i was leaning towards btr 3 but this one sounds promising as well. However im no engine builder and i just want to make sure im matching the right cam to the set of heads ive got. Every thread i read about says how important it is to match the cam to your heads and thats why i made the post to make sure im doing that.

Im leaning towards the Cam Motion Titan King LLSR LS1 cam ( 241/249 -112+3 ) just have to decide whether to rebuild my LS1 or go LS2 so far my 02 WS6 with just full exhaust RPM 5 cam but stock block, heads, intake and TB full weight with a built A4 and Yank 4k stall went 11.7@116 on a 100* day in Texas with stock 3.23 gears since then I added 4.10 gears and man did it wake up the combo it was my daily for 11 years 3 with the 4.10s still have this car and have loved it and its performance since day one now its just sitting in my driveway waiting for upgrades I just replaced it with an 08 Vette now as my daily but want to do something similar with it maybe not as excessive lol

That titan king is a healthy cam! Good luck with your next build. I need to get me a set of 4.10s as well but not sure i want to sink any money into a junk 10 bolt

lol this is true but after 8 years my stock 3.23 gear 10 bolt let go so I got a used 10 bolt(remember this was my daily) for a few hundred bucks but this one had 4.10s and damn it matched up with my combo well but it to let go after about 6 months so I got yes another 10 bolt but I used brand new gears and a Moser rearend girdle since my car is ONLY a cam and exhaust car making 414rwhp I didn't feel the need to step up and spend the money on a 12 bolt or 9" rearend…...……….yet lol the car has been hands down the best most reliable car I have ever owned until recently when it refused to start I think it got just jealous when I bought the 08 Vette and said **** it im not going to kick *** anymore for you fuckstick lmao

I'll be interested to see how you like that cam if you end up with it, with the 225s and Fast combo since I am doing a similar build with an M6 as well on the stock 3.42s. I was shooting for only about a max of 10 degrees of overlap, but maybe those heads can work with more without issue.

Couldn’t go wrong with any of the above mentioned cams, it all comes down to your tolerance of drivability or lack of.
Im using the Titan 4 in a 347 with Cnc 243 heads, 11.6:1 static, Fitech sheet metal (taller) and it runs very well even through cats... Idle quality is excellent.

Yea according to the calculator, this cam should have 15 degrees of overlap. Should sound healthy, hope it drives decent

Overlap up to 9 is very manageable. Anything over that will require a pretty good drivability tune. Tune on dyno initially then get an actual "on-road" tune. Enjoy.

Going to have to find me a good tuner around OKC!

I feel like with this cam having 15* of overlap it will be a pain in the *** to drive and not very street friendly, am I wrong here?. I'm never going to be able to make up my mind on a cam...

I'm going with something like the Titan 4 in my build with those same heads. I think you would definitely need at least 4.10 gears if not 4.30s like Tusky mentioned above to make a cam with that much overlap fun to drive on the street, but I'm a newbie to this stuff and don't have any first hand knowledge, yet.
