Overheating Issue with new 6.0 built engine
I have recently bought and installed a 6.0 built engine from Texas Speed and Performance. The engine was installed by a well known shop here in Houston. The car overheats in traffic and we have not been able to isolate the cause. The engine is supercharged, has two fuel pumps, meth injection, etc. The radiator is a high dollar Griffin radiator. We have recently added a high output alternator, checked the radiator fans, flushed the radiator, added new radiator cap, cleaned both the condenser and radiator with high pressure wash, and checked all of the hoses. The car does not overheat on the freeway. Anyone have and idea what I might be missing? Thanks.

Either sounds like there is still air in the system and needs to be burped or your radiator fans aren't coming on when they should. What t-stat are you running? Are you running a 50/50 mix coolant/water?

the running temperature on the ls1 is 221 for low fan and 227f for high fans to come which means that your radiator should be hold 16 lbs of pressure,
I have a 1998 ra ta and had to make change because its runs too hot so to make some changes the upper temperature is controlled by the PCM which needs to be reprogrammed and change to a 160 thermostat

We still have not been able to pinpoint the problem with the overheating. Not giving up but am giving it a rest for awhile. I don't drive the car much in local traffic and I do not have the issue on the highway. Thanks for all of your comments.
