The Great 88. Bricknose LS Turbo
This is the project at hand. 88 f150. I've already stripped it to the frame and started the crown vic swap front and then LS turbo from there. I will update with photos later on. Haven't seen too many of these ever fixed up.

The odometer reads a little over 80k but it only registers up to 99,999 so it might be 180k miles. I'm not sure. It was my grandfather's truck, then dad's. They have both passed away. So I decided to do something with it. I'm going to crown vic swap the front, 4 link suspension in the rear with a 8.8 with disc brakes. Then put a LS in it. I've got a 7875 turbo to put in it. Motor wise I would love to get my hands on a 6.0, but would be ok with a 5.3. It's going to have air conditioning and heater. So just a street truck. Nothing to wild on boost for now.

If you're going to turbo it,you won't miss the 6.0.
Watch some of Richard Holdener's videos that apply to turbo LS engines and you'll see why.
Turbos are a great displacement equalizer.

Yea, the 6.0 is just kind of a want not a need. If I can find one cheap enough I'll get it. However with all these price increases I know I'll end up with a 5.3 haha.

Thank you. Yes the truck does mean a great deal to me. My uncle and brother are excited to see the progress and finished result as well....I watched some videos on 4 link and found it interesting.. wanted to try to expand my fabrication skills. I'm self taught on everything, so my skills are not great, but I'm getting better. That's the only reason honestly.

You might want to make sure that frame is solid before welding to it. From the pics, it looks like it MIGHT be suspect. I know pics can be misleading…….. just a thought

I have cleaned it up with a wire brush and didn't notice any soft spots, stress cracks, etc. Ive got it braced off and leveled up in my shop when I put the crown vic brackets on. As far as I know it was all surface rust. Is there anything else I should look for? It's my first frame up project. Thanks.

I got the Team 321 kit welded up and boxed in with the cab set. Definitely a learning curve on this project. Not a professional welder or fabricator but excited to learn and continue to expand skills. On to the rear suspension. Then motor and turbo. Probably post more pictures once it's actually LS based stuff.

Small update. I got all the rear suspension finished with a fuel cell mounted.
Did not go with a 6.0 because of prices.
Settled with an 04 4.8L for $650
Taking it to the machine shop this week, if the weather cooperates.
Also got my transmission from a member of this forum. Not sure the rules on posting name of companies on here.
Motor Mounts are here. Hopefully this project will be coming together faster and faster.
Not 100% sure on what to do with the heads. Maybe just let the machine shop put new valves in them and a small port job? Still learning. Any advice would be beneficial. They are the 862's.

Thanks!
Thanks Andrew, I have a old cast 7875 in storage that I'll probably use. Unless I change my mind and go with something newer.
