I have Grundy for my 2000 WS6. The price is nearly half of what I was quoted by Hagerty. Granted the question of driving to work never came up. The service has been great and they're always there when I've called with a question about vehicle use.

Currently have haggerty in Illinois. They partnered with State Farm. But I used to get 5000 miles with State Farm, now I only get 2500 a year.

I also picked Grundy over Hagerty for reasons of pricing. Hagerty wanted much more, but for no additional benefit (to me), so for my purpose/usage of the cars I was better off going with Grundy. I've been with them now for ~15 years.

I don't see any "cons" to this type of policy as long as you meet the listed requirements (car is not a daily driver, car is properly stored, etc.).

I signed up with hagerty last August. 1999 TA, $15,000 agreed apon value, and I pay $409 for a year. I declined towing, because I have AAA. You can drive it to work when you want, or across the country. It just has to be garaged and you have to have a daily driver. I have had no issues with them.

Check with American Collectors. Somehow I missed a renewal a few years back. They sent an email and had the policy updated within a couple hours.

I need a policy that I can park the car in the driveway. Hagerty and Grundy want a locked garage in Florida.

Hagerty requires a garage here in NC as well. I just filed a claim with them last month for my T/A ($2,000) and they were very responsive although there was a lot of phone tag. I just received my new yearly bill for my $16,500 approved value and it only went up $15. I blame that on inflation vs the claim. I've had them for many years with all types of cars but it appears you are out of luck with no garage.

I have the same issue with my '74. I use Grundy for my '98 & '71 as they are always in a garage, but my '74 is currently under a cover on a cement parking pad behind my house (unfortunate, but necessary at present). Anyway, State Farm didn't have a garage requirement so I went with them for my '74 due to the outdoor storage arrangement. It's an agreed value policy just like what I have from Grundy, I think this is something recent that State Farm is offering in my state (Illinois) because they didn't have this when I first went with Grundy for my other cars many years ago.

I have $25,000 agreed value on my 1999 WS6, and I pay around $800 a year. Like others have stated, have to have a locked garage and a DD. Haven't had to file a claim yet. Very easy to start the policy and make changes as needed though,

Went from Grundy to Hagerty. Yes it costs more. Grundy had way too many restrictions. Drive the car only to car shows? Would not cover my grown kids driving my cars ( kids are in their 30's) 2 cars, 79 T/A and 2002 WS6 stated value on the 79 is 45k, stated value on the 02 is 40k ( it has less than 7k on the odometer) Hagerty was fine with the kids driving, they both have clean driving records BTW

Yeah, they have no problem with you driving the car, that's for sure. With all our trips it's nice not to worry about it. Their big thing is taking it to work or using it as a daily driver. Totally acceptable in my book.

As a long time Grundy customer, I can say that the restrictions are not that severe; unlimited driving for purposes of events/shows/cruises, or servicing, and "limited" pleasure use (yes, you can take the car out for an occasional pleasure cruise that isn't to a show). There is no annual mileage limitation. You cannot use the car for daily transportation/commuting purposes, or back-up/spare vehicle transportation. You must have another car for daily driving. Car must be stored in a garage when not in use, and nobody under 25 can drive the car. My wife is allowed to drive it, as am I. All of this is stated in my policy paperwork.

No big deal to me, none of those restrictions are a problem in my case and it's much cheaper than Hagerty.

I am going to be checking on insurance prices this week. I will definitely be checking out all 3 to see which one is the best for me.

I just checked prices. Haggerty was 138 a month and Grundy is 252 a year zero dollar deductible.18k value. Looks like that is where I am going with the Z.

$138 per month?? That doesn't seem possible. Hagerty is around $300 - $400 per year for an $18k valuation, zero deductible here. Look at some of the other posts earlier too. No one is around $1500 per year. I realize insurance is crazy priced depending where you live but I've never heard of a price that high, especially when you are saying Grundy is $252 per year. That discrepancy is too wide apart for similar type companies..

I tried to get coverage thru Hagerty for my SS about a year ago, and they wanted about $1200 for a year. Since they don't have an option to do comprehensive only during the 6th months I store the car during the winter, it was much cheaper to just keep my standard insurance.

The only issue with that is if something happens to your car, you will get the book value, not an agreed apon value.
