Default 1997 Firebird Formula - Holley Retrobright Headlights - Low works but not high beams.

A few months ago I purchased a pair of Holley Retrobright LED headlights for my car along with the pin out adaptor.I attempted to install one of the headlights on my passenger side. The low worked fine but the high did not. When going to high beams the light would just turn off on that side (the driver's side, which had the original bulb in there, continued to function on low and high). I have since been in contact with Holley multiple times. They have sent me multiple replacements and they all have the same result. I've tested the terminals on my factory harness for both polarity as well as voltage for when on low and high. The pin from the H820 out adapter had the pins go to the correct terminal on the factory harness (black to black - negative, blue to tan - low, and red to green - high). I've even put my factory headlight back in and it worked as expected.

I have a factory service manual and attempted to go through the troubleshooting exercise but haven't found an issue.

If anyone has any advice that would be helpful and appreciated.

It is going to sound stupid as it works with the factory light, turn the bulb over and see if that works. When I was doing my LED conversion on my 02 I hit times where I had to flip the bulbs to make them work.

Thank you for the response. I was suspecting that despite the documentation posted on the Holley site that maybe the terminals on the headlight bulb are reversed for the negative and for the low (the plug with the red arrow in the attached image). This would explain the behavior, but then again that would assume that the LED could work in reverse polarity when in low (which based on past experience I thought LED could only flow one direction and cannot be reversed). I suppose I could try swapping the pins but it has me nervous. I have asked Holley if the plug could possibly have the terminals not labeled right, but have not gotten a response.

Did you ever get these resolved?

how did you like the light output from them?

im thinking of trying these. I have the hella projectors right now and I hate them. Ready to take them off.

I ended up having my local Chevy Dealer install them shortly after my last post. I don't have details on what was done differently to get them to work and I haven't taken it apart to look at the wiring. I have driven the car once at night (back in August) since this work was done and the output did look very good and the high beams worked as well.
