Default 2011 Escalade 6.2 L AFM Failure

Hello, I have a 2011 Escalade with a Gen IV 6.2 L motor. I have experienced the dreaded AFM failure, and will need new cam, lifters, rods etc. Dealer quote for repair or new engine is....shocking.

I am in the Charleston SC area. Is there a recommended independent shop that is familiar with this problem and can handle repair ?

Thank you !

shop
???

Isn't that what women do when they want more shoes or another handbag or something?

Most of us on here would simply roll up our sleeves and handle it ourselves. We can help you with that.

I have had good luck contacting local car clubs and asking them for repair shops they know and trust.
Repairing your engine is not technically difficult but is a lot of work.
Tough call on repair or replace. If you plan to keep it for some time a new long block without AFM might make sense.

You do realize not everyone has the capability, time, tools and place to do this kinda job right?
