I got my engine from the machine shop and as I was cleaning my cylinder bolt from the block with the Arp Chaser I noticed a small hole in back passenger side hole where the dial goes. It's not in the coolant passage area but towards the outside of the block. And its not on the threads.

Is this block toast?

Nope, perfectly fine. That hole is from where they machined the bellhousing bolt hole. Won't hurt a thing. You could dab a little RTV in there if you're paranoid, but it's nothing that is of concern.
