LS2 Intake vs. LS1 Intake

LS2 Intake vs. LS1 Intake
Well, with results posted of how the LS2 compared to an LS6 and FAST 90; what are it's gains over a regular LS1 intake? I'm asking because my LS2 is ordered and I already have my cam here and am saving up for Stage II heads. Should i just try to sell it now and get an LS6; or go with it, because it will be an upgrade from an LS1?

I had a LS6 with Shaner and the results were hard to measure due to other mods, but I would guess 5>7 rwhp. I also have a LS2 intake and TB here ready for the winter mod program. I bet you are concerned bease of the recent post here?.. On a C5 with the LS2 TB I believe the new setup will give the engine all the air it can take, which is the goal. The more air it can take with increaasing mods, the better for the LS2. GM designed it for a 6L 400 V8 and will likely use it on the 500 hp Z07.
I have seen other reports on this intake that are very optimistic so I am not baling out till I dyno with it which will unfortunately be in the April.

If you ask me the LS2 manifold is just an LS6 manifold with a 90mm opening and the corresponding changes to make that work, then some pluming changes for the LS2. Anyone know for sure?

I don't think the ls2 is that similar to the ls6. It looks more like the fast design with it's 3 piece construction. If the ls2 doesn't work out you can always swap to a ls7 or fast 90mm in the future.

Wouldn't the LS2 Intake be desiged for a 6.0L 364 CI? I would like to see some tests on a bigger CI motor though and compare it to the LSX. With what I've seen so far, the LS6/ported TB is still the way to go for now. No fuel rail or bracket changes either. If your looking for the most HP, the LSX would be the choice and if your ever gonna do direct port the LSX can be drilled and fitted, my thoughts anyway.

The LS2 and LS1 intake are the same! Here, taken straight from the mouths of GM. Heres the link to the complete article. http://www.fallrevolution.com/forums...pic.php?t=1825
I laugh at all the people swapping out their LS6 intakes for the LS2 when the LS2 and LS1's are one in the same practically.
Nothing revolutionary here: The LS2's composite intake manifold is largely the same as the LS1's, although it's been changed to reflect the engine's various sensor relocations. It also will mount the throttle body on a slightly upward angle to prevent water puddling at the base.

What did he have on before, an LS6? When you say he lost 20hp from the LS2 do you mean that he gained 20hp over the LS2 from the fast intake?
The fast may be better than the LS2 for big cube motors. I suspect we will find that the LS2 is significantly better than an LS1 and slightly better than an LS6.

Have you ever seen an LS2 intake the volume is way more than an LS1 or 6 and the 90mm TB it will be a definate gain over an LS1 intake. And help feed high HP motors.

All Gen IV small-blocks receive a new throttle body; for the LS2 it's a huge, single-blade 90mm design that incorporates a motor to actuate the throttle's operation with electronic throttle control (ETC).
The manifold itself isn't revolutionary; just an evolution of the cross-over plenum design of the LS1 and LS6. As with the Gen III versions, the LS2's manifold is made from lightweight composite material and comes in basic black.
Evolution -- A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. See Synonyms at development.
These seem at odds with the caption on the picture.
