Default ProCharger guys...blow-off valve pics and specs please...

I still have the originally supplied ATI ProCharger blow-off valve installed...only difference is that I have it vent to atmosphere now...
valve seems to have been sticking open at the track yesterday...went from a normal boost climb to 10#+ to 7 and hitting a wall...
valve seemed to have stuck open on two passes and functioned ?properly? twice...
a/f is pig rich since the new larger FMIC, but we were afraid to lean out when boost was way off...glad we did not lean it out for the 7#'s because the next run it climbed to over 10#'s...
I need to upgrade the blow-off valve set-up...I would really appreciate any pics and specs on what you guys are running...
Thanks!

ATI race bypass or vortech mondo are the most common. I use the monda and have had no issues at all, the ATI looks like it may flow a little more though.

I'm using a forge BOV designed for DSM's. It has worked well for me and sounds nice.

You need to get a BYPASS valve, not a blowoff valve...

I am running the ATI race one vented to atmosphere...

I am running the ATI by-pass valve now...venting to atmosphere...
"by-pass" meaning the routing of "blow-off" back to the filtered inlet...as the ATI kit is designed to do...
what would the difference be between a "by-pass" valve that is VTA and a "blow-off valve"?
Maybe I'm not understanding their purpose...it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong...

A bypass valve is open at all times unless under boost. (open in all vacuum situations)

A blowoff valve only opens to relieve pressure when you let off the throttle. (only open for a split second)

Thanks...I was just surfing as much info as I could find on the subject and had come to that conclusion as well...
Guess I need to google by-pass valves now instead...

Generally you use a bypass on a supercharger and a blow off on a turbo. Most valves can do both but the tial style ebay blow offs will be pretty annoying on a blower.

Good meeting you yesterday as well.

I wonder if I need anything more than ATI's currently kit-supplied bypass valve (pic attached) which became available after my kit was purchased...
and just put it right where my currently malfunctioning one is...
another question...how important is placement of these? I have been told that it is optimum to have it as close to the TB as possible...say...in my inlet-to-TB...(pic attached)...I am referring to the "race-ready" type by-pass...
Since it is VTA...it has no reason to be so close to the filtered inlet...or does it?

Yes it will...... had it on the same setup KP has now..... FMIC setup D1SC.... Had the Tial on there and all it would do was chirp, chirp chirp at cruise.....
In this vid you can hear it..... it never stopped and was even louder at cruise.... learned it the hard way..... a couple YRs ago...
At about 1 min in you hear the constant chirping at cruise....

http://itlxlr8.com/vids/BOV.wmv

annoying... got rid of it and went with the Vortech Mondo like KP Has now.....

I have the ATI Race Ready Bypass on My Turbo Set-up.... one works with both with both and one only works with Turbo's....
Here is the ATI Race Ready Bypass..... Man is it loud....But $$$ about $450

Opinions vary on where to put it, mine is close to the blower outlet. It really depends how much air you are moving for the size, if you have a D1 spinning close to max or a larger bower I would probably go to the race bypass. The ATI one like you have flows pretty well and may be all you need.

Just remember that a bypass valve is open under non-boost conditions, and air will go in at certain times. That's why a street car needs to have a filter on the bypass if it doesn't dump back into the closed system. And a race car should probably run a screen. Otherwise you're pulling unfiltered air into your $30,000 setup...
