First Independent Nissan GTR Test!
0-60 3.3
1/4 mile 11.6 @ over 120MPH
"quicker than the last Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo we tested."
". Its 3.3-second 0-60-mph run and 11.6 at 120.9 mph performance make the GT-R the quickest car we've ever tested. "
" It's world-class fast and relatively cheap. And that's a hard combination to beat. "

It moves out for sure......but that trap speed isn't so hot for an 11.6 it should be in the mid to high 120's for a near 500 HP car.
BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT it is ugly! The exhaust tips look like sewer pipes.

Those times for the Z06 (0-60 4.1, 1/4 in 12 @ 121.8 mph) they tested are not even close to what a Z06 runs, it's more like a stock C6.
"Once impressive, its 4.1-second 0-60-mph run and 12-second quarter-mile at 121.8 mph are now well off the pace, which is why Chevy is creating the supercharged Corvette ZR1."

I would stock LS3 C6's are trapping high 118's to low 120 mph....
Nissan made a hell of a car...but with a 120mph trap speed, these things are gonna get drug hardcore by c6z's on the street...much like the last gen vipers.

On the street....9/10 people won't be able to take full advantage of the Z06....the GTR will be a much easier car to get the full potential out of. From stop light to stop light this car will decimate.

wow, very impressive numbers from nissan... guess the GTR boys won't want to be racing on the highways though with that 120 trap

Something about a fast car that's doesn't take much skill to get it to go fast screams bad idea. I foresee quite a few people getting in accidents with either this car, or other cars they own, because they have an unrealistic idea of their true skill level.

don't forget, if they reported a crap trap speed on a z06, they likely did the same for the nissan. i'm sure a good driver and good DA will far better times for that car.

I'm getting the overall feeling that, and this is just my personal opinion, this GTR will not decimate but be very neck and neck with the Viper and C6Z06 at the drag strips when they begin selling...
Now, what would REALLY be awesome is an independent test of the 911, Viper, Z06, and GTR on a road course!!!

Someone could reasonably argue that an unskilled driver is just as dangerous if not more so in a Z06, or especially a Viper, due to the skill required to run fast laps since they are less forgiving in the hands of a novice. The Viper, specifically, has incredible road course talent but takes an awesome driver to unleash... Most would just spin the car out at every turn.

With what it costs I don't think too many ppl can afford it who are unsafe drivers. I think that statement fits the s r t 4 well but this will probably be a rich man's toy for a long while.

Not feeling the design. It looks like a Cobalt and a 350Z had drunken sex and this is the outcome...about two months pre-mature.
I'll take the sexy as hell (in my opinion anyways) C6Z06 and give up the .2 in the 1/4 or whatever the difference is.
