Default 11/14/08 the build starts

today is the 3rd snow here in Milwaukee already! So the TA is staying at my shop. My plan is a TT LQ4 build. I'm having trouble picking engine internal parts and heads any help is much appreciated!

The ultimate goal is 1,000hp on the dyno and strip, and then dropping boost so I can take it on the street when I want. I'd get bored with a track only car, but I'd enjoy driving a car on the street with a cage in it :-)

Thanks for the help everyone and congrats to everyone who has done it.

Your build is going to depend on the $$$ you have. If you keep it streetable, your weight is going to be 3500+. To get it into the 9's or lower, big HP. If you haven't bought your block and heads, I would seriously look at the LSx block with some ETP 6 bolt heads (I would love to be able to buy this set-up - LSx bored to 454, ETP 265 heads.. big bucks).

Good luck

agreed, but good luck getting ETP heads... i would use the 6 bolt TFS heads. however, if you're sticking with the lq4/9 block, we have taken quite a few of these blocks to 1,ooo+ rwhp through heavy drivetrains (th400's w/ un-locked converters, 9" rears) with good reliability.

i think we are going to have a few iron 408 shortblocks built for boost completed in a few weeks. PM me or Fraser@SpeedInc for details if you might be interested.
