Lol yeah I know my dads like a kid again with his, doesn't ever drive it without a big grin on his face. Reason he had it done is he kept breaking stuff with the tr6060. Whats the specs on your new motor though?

I've been a competitive bracket racer for the past 20 years, but with this car, although I do bracket race it, for the most part, I'm just goofing off with friends at TnT races with it..... its been a blast. Nobody can escape the razzing of any racing mistakes. I think the funnest I've had racing in my life.

I broke a piston and cracked a sleeve on it due to a mistake on my part. My block arrived at ERL Performance yesterday.... they're getting ready to check for any cracks in the block. We couldn't find any, but once they get those sleeves off, might be cracked behind.... hope not. Then I decide on what exactly I'm having them build. Considering staying 427, but also considering 441-454. I'll make the final decision in the coming week.

The car has actually ran quicker than those times shown in the 1/8th.... I had made some minor changes and has run as quick as 1.27 60 ft and 6.17 in the 1/8th in 1500 ft DA.... and 6.12 with a lightweight friend in the seat. Was good for some 9.6's in my opinion.... but the one time I took it to the 1/4, it spun, but did hit 136-137 mph every pass.

Gear is the stock 3.42 gear equipped in all C6 Z06's.

I'm just scratching the surface of potential thus far..... this is fairly mild build. Our List Leader on the same converter, gear and tire hit 1.22 - 9.46 @ 139.9.

I'm not there yet.... I think I could have run 9.6 and maybe even a high 9.5 in the same air and track he did, but I don't think it gets down to 1.22 or 9.46.

I can personally vouch that I have had a whole plate of humility handed to me by this car @ Denton N/A vs. N/A. It short times so well I thought my car broke. LOL. Awesome setup, can't wait to see what it does with the new motor.

this car is impressive, everything down to the tires it uses and the fact theres really not that much craziness done to it. im on a quest for 9s but i feel the stick is going to have to come out to put a auto in to get there with the motor I have now however.

Thanks. Big motor + light car usually equals fairly reasonable et's.

Manual Transmission can get the job done too.... harder though. Gotta have the right clutch and tire for your application plus some seat time, but I'll bet you can do it. And even if you don't..... you'll have a great time trying.

Bad day racing is still a damn good day in my opinion.

Very badass car man im in the same boat as you. I have a auto converted c6z too. Im only at 522 rwhp (mustang dyno) as of now with a 2800 stall and small cam but that's about to change.

Tony Mamo put together a solid roller setup for me I will be using his ported msd intake, circle d 4k stall, solid roller cam and a set of his bad *** heads he just released (12.5 cr). Heads will be here Thursday but wont have installed till week after labor day just do to not wanting car down over summer.

Glad I found this thread I will be subscribed.

Rpm? Yes stock short block we'll see what happens there for now. I wont be at the track nearly as much as you. e85 of course, im pretty excited after seeing threads like yours. Ive been told just go FI but people don't understand I want that prestige of running 9s NA. I was kind of against the solid roller but tony was all for it and the shop doing the work wanted to go that route so I said lets do it.

You don't need Solid roller to go well into the 9's. You have enough power right now, probably just need to 60 ft your car.... 2800 rpm converter is a little tight for a 7000 rpm motor.

What I meant by RPM, is how high are you hoping to spin your motor with the solid roller ?

Your set-up is the makings of a mid to low 9 second set-up at 140-145 mph !! Very cool.

Yeah I agree the previous owner had the 2800 I guess for street manners. Not really sure how high they plan on spinning this thing. I was thinking about a electric water pump to not sure its worth the cash.

Did you say it's a 4l60 or 6l80 ?

Car would run fine with a 2800 rpm, that probably flashes up into the mid 3's on launch..... but would probably only reward you with a 1.50 60 ft or thereabouts. A lot more potential than that in your set-up.

Good Luck with your new Set-up.
