Default First trip out...barely, but I'm in the 9's

Looking for my single digit club badge... I have been working on this car for 10 months... First trip to the track, no NHRA license and chassis cert sticker yet because I finished it enough to be track ready the day before. I went this past Sunday to Lebanon Valley in upstate NY. I had a ton of problems with the car being a brand new setup but I made a bunch of motor passes and got the car down in the mid 10's which is basically where I was on spray last season. Fresh 416ci motor, th400 and a completely new chassis. Only thing left on this car from last year are the bumpers, doors, quarters and fenders...everything else has been changed. After constant BS and breakage, on my last run I made a nitrous hit... a very soft hit. Progressed it in 1.5 seconds into my run at 60% and up to 100% after 3 seconds. So leaving on the motor and bringing it in pretty slowly these parameters on a 200 jet got me a 9.991 @ 138.18 mph and 1.48 60'... pic of time slip to follow and I have a video of the run I will try to post. There is A LOT more in this car... and I will update as it goes along the rest of this season. Reaction time is terrible simply because I had no interest in the tree, trying to listen to the car leave on the trans brake and make sure everything is working properly with my new routine. Thank you everyone.

I purchased the longblock new but second hand...they are Patriot heads. I was told they were newly purchased patriot stage 3's when it was all put together but I can not confirm that with paperwork. We did pull the heads to change a couple things before putting the motor in the car, just by looking at them they were new as I was told but it appeared they were 2.02/1.60 valves not the 2.08's that would be on a stage 3 head from Patriot. So I suspect they may be the Stage 2's.

Thank you, planning on going back to the track tomorrow or over the weekend and trying to leave on spray and ramp in the shot much quicker on the progressive, that will cut the 60' down considerably and should bring my mph up a bit. Every single suspension component driveshaft and rear end on the car is yours or I got from you. Most of it purchased new, couple things second hand when I found a couple great deals. Can't beat MWC quality for an F Body. The thing is certainly working and was easy to get dialed in as far as leaving straight, that's for sure.

Hit that thing out of the hole!!
When I switched to some AFCO's and a MWC ARB I went from basketballing the tires to a 1.34 60' off the foot brake'. This is on a SBE 6.0, cam, and a 150 shot (9.90 @ 136).

thanks for the tip bro. I plan on giving it the bottle out of the hole tomorrow at the track. I have Mwc arb and Vikings in back. Qa1 up front that I’m going to tighten up a click or two because it’s coming up pretty hard and hanging the wheels about 20’ out on the motor.. thinking if I tighten them a click or two it should see same result on the bottle and not unload the rear.

No the front QA1's have the single **** which supposedly controls compression and rebound...275lb springs. Think I may be calling you to upgrade to Viking doubles for the front also. I really like the rears. Tightened front up a click last night and got some slightly better results. Two 9.7x passes and still plenty more in it.

Get a good set of double adjustable shocks on the front and some more suspension tuning get the sixty down into the 1.3's and look out, But i can't argue with your results now.

Thanks brother...I may go back Saturday not sure yet, I got the chassis cert sticker on Monday so I have to go on a day to do license runs now, tired of wondering if they're going to toss me off the track or not, might as well just go get it. Want to get the 60' down and hit it with a bit more spray on the launch. Have to send a 12v signal from my trans brake wiring to the nitrous controller box so that it'll deactivate n2o while on the two step so that I can hit it as soon as I let off the button. For now I've been using RPM, time, and speed signal inputs to limit nitrous and it's hurting me because it isn't coming on until I'm out almost 40-50' but it's as close as I can get it without risking hurting something.

Thank you... what I have is working fairly well but I completely agree some doubles up front will certainly make it easier to improve. I may hold out until winter and then give you guys a call for a set unless I get the itch and find some free money, then I'll be calling sooner haha.

Congrats on getting into the 9's and there's more to be had once you start nailing that tree.
