as stupid as it sounds it always pops 2nd gear wheelies with a respectable hit of the gas. with a trap of 148 mph, another 100 should get me closer, more like 150 more...at least i know it has the potential to break 150 mph too cool! problem with a strengthened yet stock trans is clutch and shift. i figure it is worth close to .15 per shift. just an "experienced" estimate from when i used to powershift the car, to my normal raping of the gearbox.

Oh, I agree with you on the "much more fun" part. My point is much more practical in nature. Why beat your brains out trying to put a hydraulic clutch T56 in the 8s? JMHO.

you are correct, an auto would rock in my car!
in that case i should have left my car bone stock no brain beating, just going out and having a ton of fun.
biggest thing for me is being able to jump on thei highway and still get 20 mpg, cruise 2 hours to the track, make some passes and drive back! wouldnt want to try that in a th400 with a 4500 stall

Actually, two 70mm turbos combined have half the area of a 140mm turbo.

A = pi*R^2

But hey, who is counting. Awesome set-up either way.

Theoretically what kind of power is needed or what power to weight ratio?

power to weight ratio?
a lot to a little

with the 6 speeds its more about driver technique, keeping stuff from breaking, and of course traction

I respectfully disagree with you on this. If you get a lockup converter then stall size is irrelivent on the highway anyway. TH400 + GV OD + 3.73's should net you well under 3,000 rpm's @ 70 mph which will maintain decent gas mileage. I know the GV OD unit is $2500 bucks (or something like that). But I look at it like if you're spending 10K-30K on engine/suspension/transmission then why not another $2500 for OD.

gv OD and lockup will give you equivalant to our 6 speed's 5th gear (i think 0.72:1), 6th is double overdrive, 0.5:1 ratio....maybe you could do it with a TH400, lockup, and TWO GV OD units

The point wasn't to get the equivalant of 6th gear in a M6. I don't have to be cruising at 1800 rpm's to feel good about my gas mileage. If I can hold at 2000-2500 rpm's on the highway in a 600+ HP car then I'm a very happy camper regardless of what tranny I have.
